Perhaps the means to approach this is just as for @fig's example. Cull out the items perceived to be least likely, while concentrating upon a specific slice of time. My fondest memories of KFC fall into the 60's, but it was still pretty good in the 70's, and I'm OK with targeting the 70's.
I agree that all 'spice blends' are all suspicious by the 70's. Despite that I still cling to Tones Chili Powder as an ingredient of merit...
Tomato Soup mixes, and Italian Dressing mixes must also go. Ditto pickling spice blends.
Are Mace and Nutmeg close enough to be interchangeable? And are they (along with Cinnamon and Clove) replaced at some juncture by Allspice, or by a combination of Allspice and Star Anise?

Regardless of what may have been there. What is most likely to have been or not been there during the time frame you are basing your OR on.
And while I appreciate CHS helped make McCormick's BBQ spice. He isn't also going to pay them a royalty to use it in his multi-million dollar company. Companies were still greedy back then. For me it is not plausible that in 1975 McCormick's BBQ spice was one of the 11 in KFC. No way that works. In 1950 or so, their is a good possibility it may have been. That's the logic I would apply.
Same with Mace and Nutmeg, if it's a known and good substitute. Knowing the supply chain and cost in the time frame you apply the rules against may lead you to believe that in 1940 - 50 it was Mace but buy the mid 50's it was most likely switched for Nutmeg (total example so please don't focus on dates here etc)
I just think the list could be beat down a bit more. Until we get to the harder ones like Star Anise, Anise Seeds, Allspice etc.

My first stab for mid 70's may be down to: (I left Chili powder just for in for Silver)
Allspice Bay Leaf Basil Bell Peppers Sweet Cardamom Caraway Cayenne Pepper Celery Seeds Cinnamon Chili Powder (from mild to hot) Chili Pepper Dried Flakes Clove Dill Seed / Dill Weed
Garlic Lemon Zest Dried
Mace Marjoram Mint Mustard Seed Nutmeg Onion Orange Zest Dried Oregano
Parsley Paprika (Sweet, smoked, hot) Rosemary Sage Savory (Summer, and/or Winter) Star Anise, Anise Seed
Tarragon Tomato, Turmeric Thyme Vanilla Bean ------------------- Potato Starch yeast extract
I'd like to then group these by type or substitutes etc.

flg I agree with your thought that many spices blends may seem off the date line BUT the ingredients in the spice blends are NOT off the Time range which is Key. Combination of spices that compliment each other

Morton Sausage seasoning
4 tsp Kosher or Himalayan Salt 4 tsp ground or rubbed sage 2 tsp fine ground black pepper 2 tsp red pepper flakes 1 or 2 tsp Coriander
Its the combinations that create the Great item and CHS knew that two or Three of many similar or like blends then work with any other Profile or NOTE

Can it now be said that (for a taste similar to present day KFC_OR, at least) the following are definitely to be considered "in"?
Salt MSG White Pepper Black Pepper Coriander Ginger Sage Savory
And should Marjoram also be added to the list of what's "in"?

Adding Caraway Seeds to the "what's in?" list based upon deepfriednew101's insight that Caraway was originally used: Salt MSG White Pepper Black Pepper Coriander Ginger Sage Savory Caraway
