Result from Cook-off comparison We will be doing another test of this recipe for this reason which will be obvious in the photo's We Only had Brined Chicken which was a over-site on my part and the Fat we had was Beef Tallow In the Photo you will notice the result of a sticky Old fashion style of Original KFC which is NOT as noticeable in the NEW AGE KFC. These two things would NOT make a True comparison which we want to achieve. I will also ask Silver what was your exact measurement of the flour and how much spice did you add to the flour. Once I noticed that the Chicken was Brined and the Fat was Beef Tallow, we did try the recipe BUT also varied the spice amount to flour ratio. Cook-Off Photo's

I will also ask Silver what was your exact measurement of the flour and how much spice did you add to the flour. Each recipe contains the exact (by weight) measurements for all ingredients, including flour. All ingredients as listed are merely combined together. There is to be no variance. Otherwise the three of us (and any others who wish to join us) are not cooking the same recipe.

The chicken cooked Great like ALL our Cooked chicken and there was no extra burning or effect of what some said should have been a extreme amount of spice. In other cooks when a spice or herb was over kill it caused a Darken color chicken or off color this DID NOT HAPPEN.
The flavor was a very very Flavorful taste, BUT the Beef tallow and brine may have also contributed to the result which is why we are Going to re-test the recipe with non-brined chicken and to the recipe request.
The result Silver post will say if the non brined chicken was Ok or not from his cooking.
Personally I know the extra effect that a Beef Tallow and Brining makes as shown in the above photo's from our Business reputation it is why we Brine and use Tallow as it's a unbeatable extra combination for flavor.

I do not brine, and I only have access to Canola Oil, Peanut oil, or more likely a combination of these two oils. It's only my wife and I cooking for ourselves, unless some of our adult/children might occasionally join us. We are both retired and living on a fixed income. We are not cooking for a commercial multitude of customers. Thus we are very small scale...

How was your chicken cook results Silver ? I intend to cook within the next few days. I always need to get my wife onboard. We picked up a nice pack of chicken thighs at Aldi yesterday, so that's step one. I'll update on this as soon as I've pinned down the date. If it were up to me, it would be today...

I appreciate your blunt honesty in mentioning that your methodology was not in full compliance with the Grand Finale 1.1 recipe, and also in mentioning that you ultimately tweaked it. No further cheating now, please.

I only tweeked the recipe to see if the Beef Tallow and the Brine were causing the extra so tried less seasoning
the next batch will be NO tweeking and a exact test. in regular oil open fryer NOT pressure cooked
