My hope (as always) is for this recipe to be literally the grand finale act in this quest.

For me it may be a tad salt heavy with 30g Salt plus 1g Garlic Salt.
I won't be able to cook until at minimum next week. We are on a chicken overload at the moment as far as meals go.

I don't think that 30 grams in the earliest OR evolution is up for grabs since KFC documents 3.75 pounds of Salt within an early franchise manual. I think we should all forego any brine or marinade step(s) and use uninjected Chicken thighs so we are on the same page in that regard also. How about this revised version?

With no brine or marinade the test will be evaluating exclusively the seasoned coating crust.
Thighs should be bone in and skin on...

Oops, I just realized that I erred in calling Garlic Powder Garlic Salt in Grand Finale, 1.1. Here is the correction. This is a very minor correction.

So far it appears that only two of us are willing to actually step forth and commit to actually cooking what between them would be a 'common' recipe. What of the rest of those who freq this forum? What is their actual motive for being here? If none of us can agree to even occasionally volunteer to cook a common recipe whereby to have legs upon which to stand in honestly critiquing it, with such critique leading to improvement, then the end goal of achieving a common recipe that meets the very criteria upon which this forum was founded (as baked into this forums very name) is utterly lost.

I think you need to consider unwillingness vs unable to. Depending where folks live it's spring and with that comes extra work. I was just able to light up the BBQ last week since early November. New grandchild, new puppy etc. and I am sure some folks have it worse.
Personally I get the ability to cook KFC about once every 6 weeks. Less in the summer when it's hot. I have to choose wisely what recipe I am going to go with. Else it is 6 more weeks or so until a redo. I have 3 personal variants lined up. Based on my last cook I am almost done anyway until more tangible evidence comes to light.
I think it's a valid recipe ingredient wise. It is overweight for sure. And as mentioned. I will seriously consider cooking it to prove the point it's too heavy. But not until next week or the week after.
Food for thought would be the cost of a heavy recipe like this. Times the volume of spice he needed even real early on in selling to the resellers. And weaker supply chain than today. Now I'd agree poor quality ingredients would drive the required volume up. So that does need to be factored in as well.

Thanks for that! Now we have three who are attempting to gauge the validity (benefit) or non-validity (detriment) of going a bit overboard with the ingredients. Albeit that version 1.1 has a lot less ingredients than this thread started out with, and is trending more toward mainstream that toward excess.
