Confirmation Bias: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confirmation_biasEdit: I openly admit to having loads of confirmation bias, and struggling with it. We all exhibit loads of it, but few are open to acknowledging it. Personally, quite the opposite is the case. For instance, I never liked the idea of Nutmeg/Mace being in the OR I must admit. Didn't make me deny it though. Instead I identified it in both the vials and the napkin. Also, I never before believed black and white pepper were outside the 11. But it makes a lot of sense with regards to the vials and the napkin. Solves the odd "count the two as one" problem too. Being open to changes and challenges is the very reason that allowed me to re-evaluate the situation and come up with these results. But I know what you mean and we all have our biases. I said I wouldn't go down the road again but now I do: I do not like the narrative of KFC would not just put the recipe in front of everyone. Well for starters, the recipe had been shared with many, it is not that much of a secret. Secondly, they don't. Neither the vials themselves nor the napkin reveal that much on their own. Only the combination of all the information we now have, plus your own cooking sessions let you make somewhat safe statements about the recipe. Thirdly, we are a bunch of freaks. No everyone cares whether the OR gets cracked or not. Most don't. They are happy with eating the kentucky fried crap they are selling these days. Soon the generations that had proper chicken will not dwell amongst us anymore. Who invested that much time the way I did to identify the napkin? No one publicly. So where's the fuss and threat it should have caused. And even if, everyone here knows that getting the ratios right is as important as using the correct items, maybe even more important. So they don't give anything away really.

If you think about it. KFC advertising herbs and spices and having zero real herbs and spices in their actual chicken, is like the British conquering the world for spices and ending up with flavourless beans, chips & fish. Just makes no sense

The napkin is legit! I could finally track it. It was used in Tokyo, Japan in 2007. What if Cardamom is Star-Anise Seeds, and Nutmeg is Mace?

The seeds look more like Cardamom seeds to me though. With Star Anise, you use the entire thing, not only the seeds. So illustrating only the Star Anise seeds would be strange. But can't rule it out of course.

Do yourself a flavour and stick to these items. Or don't.
