Garlic, pepper and salt are standard Southern fried chicken ingredients. They, and msg, are openly listed on seasoning bags. They are not secret. I have never seen any ground or crushed chili pepper sold that contained seeds. Pepper flakes have seeds, as do home ground chilis, but those are loaded with seeds. This vial contains no more than 5 or 6 seeds, if some of those specs are actually pepper seeds.
Perhaps we should quit accepting ideas we are expected to, and begin following what CHS said. Dressing and sausage ingredients. Almost everything on God's Earth can go into sausage. Pepper flakes are standard in venison and some beef salamis. The KFC seasoning is almost always described as grey. I grow, and deal with a lot of chili peppers, and they turn everything they touch red.

I will Go Back to Long trailed Time when Many on and off OLD FORUM spoke about the Red Discoloration the Spice Made ? The OLD KFC OIL was RED after 2 Cooks and the OIL had to be changed more Often which was a Major COST issue. The Grey was More New Age Spice.

My wild guess as to the middle 'stock photo' purporting (upon opening, and/or download) to be 'Grace's 12 spices':
Chili Powder Mace and/or Nutmeg (or perhaps Cinnamon?) Clove Smoked Paprika Green Cardamom Seed Coriander Seed Turmeric (mustard seed is nowhere near this yellow) Garlic Powder Mild or Sweet Paprika Sage Savory A dried Tabasco-like, or other of such Piri-Piri-like very hot Peppers
But stock photo's must be taken with a grain of salt... And guesses merely reflect the bias of the guesser.
Edit: Combine the two Paprika's and you have 11 H&S.

I agree BUT with the Crap we had in-house it was the ONLY way we could get the Pop we needed.
We have a New Source of Cumin from a Asian Trade Supplier. (They have Supplied us with Free Samples)

The umami mix (dressing) replaced the paprika which is the usual staple in sausage. So KFC has tried to steer us towards chili style sausage, but in reality the OR is actually dressing style sausage. CHS was too proud not to have secretly bragged about his accomplishment, so he revealed hints to intrigue. Vanilla is another attempt to steer us away from the OR. It is never used in either dressing or sausage. KFC made dressing sausage seasoning, and put it on chicken. There are as many testimonials that the early OR was green, as there are that it was red.
