Did you find the Ginger over powering ? No, not at all. That's because it's ginger nature decomposes in the presence of heat.

The McCormick' Outdoor spice kit was 1955ish ERA NOT 1939 when the 11 Spices and Herbs were developed.
Savory and Sage were available in 1939 HUNDRED and HUNDRED of Vintage tins In Canada and USA.
Coriander was very rare in 1930's packaged in INDIVIDUALLY Tin's it was in Blends of some items or a Commercial Large 6Lbs Tin BUT NOT easy found in Small Tins that were easily found in the Local markets. The individual Coriander started hitting General Stores and Markets after 1945 Many Spice Companies have documented in Advertisements and Old Tins available.
Sorry If you thought I implied that ALL the Items were available in 1939 I was clear to SAY that CHS Developed this with McCormick's in 1955 ISH ERA.
To EVERYONE Please view OLD Spice Tins and Jars for your OWN reference of the Timing spices and Herbs hit the Markets, and Years.
If you look world wide almost every type of spice and herb have been traded back to the Bible, Its what was easily accessible in 1935 to 1940's either by Traveling salesmen or General Store availability that would be plausible as used by CHS. BUT maybe Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk sold CHS and 11 Serbs some magic beans ?

Derrick Wilson maintained that in the Pierce book, the element that CHS complained about that was added to the seasoning bag at 4 ounces, was not ginger, but was code for garlic.

So in the world of CHS and KFC ginger is now secret code for garlic. Please permit me to question the credibility of this assertion.

Marion Kay Bill S assumption was KFC NEW AGE formula used Sub Grade or cheaper items.
I think we can all age use what is at our easy of access.
Going around the world and spending Hundreds of Dollars for items is CRAZY. I prefer to use what items are Great and spare no expense if its the BEST or BETTER BUT NOW since shortage of Items we are lucky to get what we get and have to make Due with the less high quality items.
Our Principle NOW is mix the Great Spices with a Lower Grade item to make a neutral item until the Supply chain is back to some sense of normal.
Use what you have and make it still BETTER then any NEW AGE KFC today.
