Some parts are out of focus. The bag needs to be flatter.
Or just list the ingredients.
Great find!

Yobananaboy, intriguing find. What’s the story behind the report? Was an Egyptian spice bag analyzed by Griffith Lab?
Dfn101, what’s “Water grass” and have you used it? A Mexican spice- Zebrina pendula?

A similar Bag was posted on Ken's site years ago.
We used a Red Water Grass from Jamacia it was Hard to obtain we test were tried with it.
Personally NOT great attempts were made as there were multiple items being tested at the time and caused over lap issues of testing.
There was little interaction with testing it which was due to obtaining the Water Grass.
We tested it in low amount and Did Not find a Miracle answer to It was the Key item. We were Only able to obtain a small amount and what we had was used quick and Hate to say we Did Not get more to try a Higher volume

Smallgree, what’s the red herring- the bag, test or water grass?
It’s interesting to see ( assuming the sample and situation is real) that there are more than 11 ingredients. Both vanilla and cinnamon are in the mix. I’m more and more inclined to believe that there is more than one path to achieving the KFC OR note. The big issue with me is the third or fourth day if a mix, uncooked or cooked, can degrade and keep its KFC OR nature.

Anyone can see the image? Amazing find there! Please translate it. I now know far more than I ever did before! So far I've learned that the Original Recipe (OR) in Egypt definitively contains:
Celery Basil (Sweet?)
Cardamom Water Grass (the stuff Papyrus was once made from?)
Paprika (of some sort) Hot Pepper (Red?) Dill (As weed or seed? I'm going to guess 'seed') Cinnamon
Griffith Laboratory is the listed manufacturer (KFC subcontract manufacturer).

Water Grass may also be (or of course, may not be) what is called Nut Grass or Nut Sedge. Wikipedia says:
"It is a staple carbohydrate in tropical regions for modern hunter-gatherers and is a famine food in some agrarian cultures."

Anyone can see the image? Yes, I see it, but (as stated already) much of it is not in focus, and much needs to be translated. Do you know what 'Water Grass' is?
