If only you all realized that my recipe is the closest anyone has ever gotten. My recipe is only a matter of deciding caraway/star anise. Add basil back? Keep summer savoury?
Everything else i have locked down good. I can tell you with absolute certainty Sage, Marjoram, Thyme, Oregano, and Rosemary are all herbs in the O.R
Flour: 400g. Salt: 2 tsp. Sugar: 1 tsp. Msg: 1 tsp. Chicken Stock/bouillon powder: 1 tsp.
1. Black Pepper. 3 tsp. 2. White Pepper. 2 tsp. 3. Cayenne Pepper. 1 tsp. 4. Paprika. 1/2 tsp. 5. Garlic Powder. 1/2 tsp. 6. Onion Powder. 1/2 tsp. 7. Celery Seed. 1/4 tsp. 8. Fenugreek seed 1/8 tsp.
9. Ginger. 1/2 tsp. 10. Cinnamon. 1/4 tsp. 11. Mace. 1/4tsp. (fresh ground blade for proper effect) Can sub with nutmeg. 12. Allspice. 1/8 tsp. 13. Cardamom. 1/8 tsp. (could instead slightly up this one just below 1/4 tsp, and slightly lower Mace just tad under 1/4tsp) 14. Coriander seed 1/2 tsp. 15. Caraway seed. 1/8 tsp.
Tarragon. 1/4 tsp. 16. Sage. 1 tsp. 17. Thyme. 1/4 tsp. 18. Oregano. 1/4 tsp. 19. Summer savoury. 1/4 tsp. 20. Marjoram. 1/4 tsp. 21. Rosemary. 1/8 tsp.

My recipe is alive and mutating daily. Understanding is becoming more clear from all that has been researched. I read once that CHS received a reading from a fortune teller. I bet he was familiar with gambling, as many reformed gamblers become do-gooders, as CHS portrayed himself to be. There are three standout numbers in the game of "craps". One, seven and 11. Did CHS begin throwing in ingredients based upon these numbers? I shall find out. (even the Lee's court case seemed to dwell on a certain number)

You are correct Numbers were something that resonated in those years
A Quick viewing of many advertisement from the 1920's from the spice companies who also gave out cook books when you sent advertisement in from new print. Many companies had Already Coined the TERMS secret recipes and or use 12 or 28 spices in the sauce or ingredients. Also most spice companies list the Top 12 items they sell printed on the Tins so Numbers were used Heavy in advertisement's
Remember C.H.S. also Coined other Phases Servistation

Black and White Pepper plus 5 beyond those = 7

I'm cooking in a few. If this isn't the one, then I will put it into my private collection, as it has great flavor. 22 ingredients counting the peppers as two, and msg and salt as one. The aromatics number 11. Altering the Italian Seasoning with more sage, which cancels the extra sage, and dropping the msg/salt, and counting the peppers as one, then I have 19 ingredients, or 1+7+11.

Crap. I poured the wrong jar of seasoning into the flour. I can't waste the flour, but I'm not sure just what I put into that flour. Old age is getting to me.

I'm sure he made mistakes. He flew to Australia to try to quit cussing, but returned with his profanity intact. My wife once mistakenly poured cayenne on steaks instead of paprika, and as a pepper head, i was the only one who could eat them.

My newest recipe passed the chicken liver test. Today I will cook gizzards. Next will be chicken thighs. I tried enough ingredients to be able to discern some ingredients that are necessary, and some that aren't. I did another 2016 KFC seasoning test, but a little more controlled. Not much to it except for salt, msg and pepper. The water looks like weak tea. I'm concluding that if extracts were used, then salt was the carrier. I'm going to soak some black and white pepper to see if I get the same color.
I sat down after this last cook and tried again to fit the entire recipe into the vials, as Shelton suggested. I started with spoonfuls, converted to grams, and used Shelton's percentages as comparison. They seemed to fit. With spoons, there seemed to be more pepper than Shelton would call for, but if extracts were used, then they would fit. I also used the standard 5 lbs of seasoning (2 lbs seasoning plus 3 lbs salt) to 25 lbs of flour ratio, and it was close, but would fit if extracts (with salt carrier) were used to reduce the seasoning bag weight.
