I separated the aromatic elements of my chili seasoning mix, apart from the elements that comprised most of the recipe. I realized that the note came from these "lesser" elements and not from their combination with the "larger" elements. This is not to say that all of the elements do not make KFC, but only that that "note" comes from the melding of the "lesser" elements, alone.
Therefore, the vials contain only the aromatics of the OR. Mixing the larger elements, such as peppercorns, with these will dilute the note.
Winston Shelton was given the "note" elements, and not the entire recipe. CHS wasn't the village idiot and only gave the partial secret. This is apparent because the actual recipe never leaked out in any way. The information given out by Shelton was negligible, at best. He didn't know the entire recipe.
Ledington is a charlatan. He knew the basic "larger" elements, but not the "lesser" elements. When he drew up the recipe, he added what he suspected were the "lessers". This explains the "5 or 6 missing". Claudia could not have attached the recipe to her will, which had already been through probate and had been seen by many, because she was already dead. If Ledington had known the recipe, he certainly would have commented on more than just the white pepper.
The Glen videos were very suspect because the mixes they tested were not given in quantities. This would ensure that we would continue to mix our blends "together", so the note would be diluted.
Let me make this perfectly clear. The story about the black man adding everything in the cupboard to CHS's basic recipe has merit because the recipe was in two parts. What may have been obscured most throughout the years is how these "added" elements were actually prepared. This is the secret. Adding the separate aromatics to black pepper, white pepper, msg, salt and whatever, together at the outset, is wrong. I've learned that with my chili. The aromatics are one part of the recipe. along with the majors. Multiples.
I wish everyone a Happy New Year.

Salt and MSG extra.

Did you Cook it with Gizzards or other parts?
when you say NOT the best could have it been from Lack of Spice or Too Much Spice

First. It will be a waste of time trying to bust my chops. I took this mix and mixed the numbers around. I remember Glen commenting on Ken's recipe, which I thought was odd because he chose other recipes to further test. Then it hit me, in conjunction with other projects of mine, why he did so. Freudian slip.
But, because some have tried to bust my chops, I insist that you all figure it out yourselves. That means really do some cooking, over and over, and not finger test your mixes. I just cooked some boneless, skinless thigh strips, which were brined for two days in the regular poultry brine I have always used, and have posted.....somewhere. I used a different mix than I have posted, but that is where I started. Winston Shelton gave us the entire recipe, but he did it very discretely. Glen gave us one of the keys.
I think what pissed me off the most was the "smallgree/willy" bs. So you're going to have to work for it. If not, no sweat off of my b---s.
I will post this on the other forums. I haven't read a post since long before Christmas.

in 1930 Licorice Root was sold as a Pharmacy item and would have been used By C.H.S. Long before K.F.C. style Bird when he was Helping deliver Babies as this was used for Morning sickness and stomach issues in pregnancy's. C.H.S. often carried a Licorice Root Style Candy with him, as a stomach aid. On a Mission he gave it to a Pregnant lady to have for her stomach issues. In Canada we Did NOT have the item is was a U.S.A. sold item as a Natural item. The Licorice Root falls in line with the Penick's Allspice which was a Jamaican Pimento back in that day (K.F.C. Museum item )
