Ate some cold gizzards. My search is over. I gave my recipe, without the amounts, or the secret ingredient. I will not be selling this, but I will be cooking it. I am bored with these scientific extrapolations, and the reworking of the same-olds, same-olds. I've not left out anything except the tastebuds, and that is your project.

Not up on eating chicken gizzards. If it's a southern thing, I must be way north of you. It sounds like they may be something worth trying. I may have to get detail from you on cooking them.

I'm the only one in my family who will eat gizzards. Unlike KFC, Lee's Famous Recipe still has them on the menu along with livers. I can't wait to get down to New Philadelphia, Ohio and try both (which are sold separately). While there I'll be sure to grab a bunch of their pressure fried Chicken also. It crushes KFC.

I ran out of ginger but found some whole dried ginger I bought some time ago from the Mexican market. Grated it and lo and behold, it is outstanding ginger. Here's a preliminary recipe: For one cup of flour:
Salt - 1 TBS Pepper - 1 TBS MSG - 1 tsp Ginger - 1 tsp Good Seasons (knock off) - 1/2 tsp Curry (make your own; I have an idea for CHS's) - 1/2 tsp Smoked paprika - 1/4 tsp New Ingredient (withheld because of several who declared they found it. Poker bluff's?) - 1/4 tsp.

It is 4 ounces. Grated dried ginger is powerful. IF I gave out the secret ingredient, some heads would explode, and the others would get a rope.

Someone needs to call the hand and have all 3 of you with "the secret" ingredient. Turn over your card. LOL
My bet is all of your individual "secret ingredient" are different from each other. And the conjecture continues!

What I find the Best out of Ones who are NOT sharing the Classified secrets some claimed to find which may or may NOT be correct is Great for them.
Even if they would have released the ingredient they would have been trolled to death they were wrong or it can't be.
Even if they released the Ingredient of the 100% Correct Original recipe KFC will NOT go broke with the NEXT recipe they will denounce as NOT the Original Recipe.
Marion Kay and Graces perfect Blend will be busier then they already are and NOT miss a Day of selling Spices and Herbs because someone found the recipe.
The chances of Someone starting up a Chicken Spice sale outlet On-Line or otherwise and becoming a Millionaire over night with out a Informercial is as likely chickens will fly south for the winter. Yes they may be a Flash in the Pans quick and get some traction if they get the news media involved.
I congratulate the ones who have found the recipe or likeness that is what they have made as similar or as Great as KFC.
For the REST of EVERYONE else Back to the Deep fryers and Pressure Cookers get cooking

I don't post anything unless I've tried it first. A preliminary recipe is just a waste of time, unless trying to spark debate. The secret ingredient is the taste that everybody and his/her brother have been trying to run down. It is true that all of these people who have found the secret ingredient have blundered. The secret ingredient (hide in plain sight) is, and always has been the blending of the pepper with msg and salt.
What I did was mix two parts salt with one part ground black pepper to shake onto avocados. After sitting, it began to taste familiar. I got out the KFC seasonings that I had soaked in water and some of the dried mixes. I added the correct amounts of salt, and added msg to my salt and pepper mixture. The illusions soon faded. I had created the "OR" (today's), and the note, by seasoning avocados.
I will further reduce that reddish liquid I've saved to see if anything stands out. So far, there might be a hint of celery, but not very strong. It is a non-entity unless soaked in the water. There definitely ain't 11 ingredients in the KFC mixes, at least not herbs and spices.
