Made some more major breakthroughs! "the executive said none have come close, adding the actual recipe would include some surprises." "would include surprises" is very true. Trying the tarragon tomorrow, taking a break for now. Lot's of ways at looking at this. Some of the more popular may be that there is less or more than 11 ingredients. That it contains blends off spices poultry or chili or both or others. Could be it contains ingredients not thought to be used in fried chicken.
Agree with the others. Look under every stone.
While that would be a very good surprise, i do not believe any 1 of the 11 herbs and spices to be 2 ingredients. "11 herbs and spices" if any one of those ingredients was actually a combination of two ingredients the colonel Never would have said " All the ingredients can be found on everybodys shelf" they are all individual ingredients 100%. Thinking they contain two ingredients will get you nowhere imo.

Suppose he used tamarind and molasses, from dried and powdered Worcestershire, or something else, like kitchen bouquet, or maggi like bouillon, or New Zealand Marmite / Promite /yeast extract). It is several, but it is one, depending on how you count. He seemed savvy enough to give the answer people wanted to hear. It seems like the 11 herbs and spices nomenclature came along pretty well after the buyout. Before that it included the word seasonings. And before that I’m not sure when the 11 count was even first described. The old ads from the 50’s don’t seem to mention it. 70 years have gone by so the single ingredients have been tested a bit…

When I do some Threads it vary on the computer which has stored information on it. If the Info is on the computer I'm Threading ON I post it. Yes that Article I have posted MANY times Possibly 20 Times and In other post I have references other articles. The other Articles are on Ken's Forum which I'm not a Member. I have never claimed to be a writer I just post what I can. Periodically the other forum is open for reading the main area without an account. Now is one of those times.

The only ingredient i can see as actually being two ingredients is the pepper.

Also, i played around with the ginger today, (lowered the amount drastically) I can now see that ginger is one of the key ingredients to creating that amazing aroma.
I also added some mustard back in today and i was very impressed. I am again looking into mustard but have ruled out celery seed completely.
