Shouldn't be hard to get reasonable numbers on it's contents.

I'm initially guessing that around 3 Lbs. 3 Oz. of the containers 4 Lbs. 12 Oz. will be Salt. That leaves about 25 Oz. for everything else (I.E., MSG, B&W Pepper, and "Other H&S").

I don't believe that the Salt in the NZ drum could be less than 3 Lbs. 3 Lbs. 2 Oz. to 3 Lbs. 3 Oz. is my best guess. So the "everything else" category must fall within 25 Oz. to 28 Oz.

I think 99x containers are 25oz or where so I’d say it’s reasonable to think 25-28oz. Maybe it’s just a 26oz seasoning plus salt combo

flg , 26 Oz. would be right up KFC's alley. That would peg it at 3 Lbs. 2 Oz. of Salt.

I know everyone is Focusing on Weights weights and Bag Size
FOOD for thought.
using the Tin as a example But anything works
4.75Lbs Bag of Salt & Spice and Herbs
First is always the Heavier and that would have applied with the Tin

4 pounds and 12 ounces = 2,15 kg
so it tells everyone that Seasoning Minimum is 2 Pounds 7 ounces.
But as a Principle Salt was measured in Cups and equal Measurements
2 pounds 12 ounces KFC Seasoning to 2 Pounds Salt would have been the weight ratio used. The 2Lbs of Salt is in line with OLD KFC manuals which specify 2lbs Salt bags.
4 pounds and 12 ounces = 4Lbs = 64 ounces + 12 ounces = 76 combined ounces 2 pounds and 12 ounces = 32 ounces + 12 ounces = 44 ounces of KFC SPICE AND HERBS 44 ounces = 1248 Grams
1248 grams KFC Spice and Herbs 907 grams of Salt
so anyone trying to use ANY method of breakdown from this Tin use common sense and start with these numbers and work down to your two cup conversation.
Then use the % method to add to the Flour and your Flavor profile.
when CHS taught how to make the CHICKEN he said taste the seasoned flour and adjust it as necessary CHS was NOT afraid to teach the OLD SCHOOL cooks season it to flavor. NOT all package weights.
