Note: If you add 1.5 grams of Cayenne Pepper instead of adding the 'Crushed Red Chili Pepper Flakes', then also add 3.5 grams of Sweet Paprika so the Red Pepper similarly sums to 5 grams.

The only honey is that which is in the 'wash'. If a franchise is actually pouring honey over it's chicken, that may be to satisfy a local to perhaps regional preference.

I watched it on a video. Anything else is conjecture, without affirmative proof.

There are more then One company who have used Honey drizzled, poured over chicken or Liquored over chicken for A LONG LONG time.
There are recipes which have used a honey poured in the cavity of a chicken which is Rotisserie cooked, and cooked many other methods.
Honey was tested in the Brine also.
Mixed in the Egg Wash was attempted BUT I know when they tried that test the Honey was a Glob of Honey not a liquid. The test Did not Go well BUT more due to the Product and technique tried.
I even recall Test tried with Bee Pollen add to Flour BUT the sifting was a NIGHTMARE clogged the hand sifters.
I can say I would be Game to test Honey in a Brine again, and a Milk and Egg wash also. instead of Brown Sugar

MSG will lend a mild sweetness if you add enough of it.
A photo of an early 'seasoned flour' bag dating from CHS's ownership days clearly states 'Dextrose' as an ingredient. Therefore Dextrose was deFacto an ingredient before Brown and Massey.

Sweet Corn style Flour more used in Corn Bread and EVEN CORN DOG BATTER which is VERY Powdered Flour base ? ? ?
