Here's the first one that popped into my head:
200 g. Cake Flour
26.5g. Salt
15.0g. MSG
2.50g. White Pepper
2.00g. Black Pepper
2.50g. Sweet Basil
2.50g. Celery Seed
0.30g. Nutmeg
0.15g. Clove
0.15g. Cayenne Pepper
Sweet Basil delivers Eugenol plus a faint background hint of licorice. Plus it gives this recipe it's only herb. 2.50 grams of Basil is nominally the Eugenol equivalent of 0.60 grams of Allspice.

For those wondering, the recipe seen within the first post to this thread has 7 Herbs & Spices. Flour, Salt, and MSG are neither herbs nor spices. Salt and MSG are minerals, not plant based. H&S must be plant based. They are only Herbs if they are leaves. foodchannel.com/2009/salt-is-not-a-spice |

I have always told people THIS
DO NOT LIMIT THE USE OF THE SPICES AND HERBS TO ONLY CHICKEN.
it can be tested on Eggs, Pasta, ALL MEATS also.
CHS SAID THE SPICE WORKS ON MORE THEN JUST CHICKEN

Let's approach this from a slightly different perspective. Rather than focus upon which 5 H&S would be definitively in, let's list the H&S that would be definitively out if one was to be restricted to only 5 ingredients in addition to MSG, Salt, I+G, White Pepper, and Black Pepper, yet your goal was still one of capturing the note of KFC_OR.
I'll start with:
Marjoram
Oregano
Counter argument is essential and welcome.

I have to add my favorite one. Sorry in the original OR there wasn't Start Anise. Sorry all, just wasn't a thing, Did corporate add at one point to cut down on another spice, maybe.

I would suggest that the Oregano AKA Mexican Sage would have been In the Original
It was one of the more common item's of 1930's
was used in Butchering and sausage making and stuffing.
and further to the point is Oregano was typically a direct replacement for Marjoram so if you remove both you lose both potential
except Mexican Oregano was replacer with Sage
