I mixed a recipe last night based upon the ingredients listed above in the vials. Instead of msg, I used chicken powder. The main ingredients in the powder are salt and msg. I dropped the salt from the garlic and celery. I used popcorn salt to add to the seasoning. Tasted decent. Just need to recharge my taste buds. Still undecided whether "vial J" should be nutmeg, or coriander.

Smallgree,
The original recipe has nothing to do with those vials.
I've posted the proof before, and this is another very simple one:
We know there are:
White Pepper Garlic powder Mustard Ginger
Yet the photo shows only two yellow vials.
You can't get all of them in the vials.
You may say Black pepper and White pepper both are pepper, one spice, but then, thats not what the Ledington recipe that you consider important says, and not what had been printed on the spice mix bag.
and even then, you still have 3 other spices to fit in only two vials, this is why I eliminated the vials from my book. I cannot get the 4 in 2 without some sort of logic-twisting.
This photo has been used for 10 years, it couldn't give us any single one of the 11.
But the original recipe, or this is how I see it, is more than just 11.
Keep the great work Fred!

I have always been greatly misunderstood about my opinion about the 11 vials. Whether as truth, or a well plotted diversion, or just stupidity, something is in those vials. I want to know what. Always study all angles. There was a reason for what KFC actually put into those vials. If a person knows what is in the vials, then that person might discern the logic used, whether fraud, truth, the presentation of the old recipe, or a new one. I can't be convinced that the vials contain fairy dust. If vial A is grated ginger, then that defeats the "only 2 yellow vials" statement. Why is it always assumed that the vials contain only fine powdered substances? For me, the vials do not contain the entire OR, but they contain something. Knowing what they contain exposes the Corporation's intentions.
Here is my final take on the vials. What if they contain all the proper ingredients, but some in multiples? Pepper melange contains all of the pepper corns, white, black, green, and red. Avoid that possibility, and you have defeated the scientific method of discovery.

It has been mentioned before that vial C contains black garlic! or
Vanilla Cayenne Allspice Basil seeds Black cardamom
They all are posibilities from a colour-side of view.
Vial K , can be
Pepper corns Marjoram Sage Basil
Vial I can be
Savory Bay leaf Rosemary Fennel Oregano
Vial H can be
Nutmeg Allspice Celery green Cardamom buds Caraway seed
Vial J can be
Star Anise Chili Flakes Mace Saffran Sumac
Vial A can be
Coriander seed Cumin seed Dill seed Anise seed
Vial D can be
Thyme Tarragon Parsely
With some twisting, I can put any set of 11 different herbs and spices in those vials.
But that will not answer my questions or prove me correct.
There are good news though, even without the vials, we are very close to the original recipe code than any other in the history of this research!

And don't forget, we didn't see those vials until they had sat for many years. Oxidation does take it's toll.

Just gave my newest mix to my guinea pig. It does me no good to quit researching because someone claims to have the OR, when I don't have the recipe to try. So I trudge on.

And don't forget, we didn't see those vials until they had sat for many years. Oxidation does take it's toll. I remember my mother had a spicerack when I was a kid (1980ies). I remember that the thing was already more then 20 years old and it contains arround 20 small jars with different spices and herbs. And I remember looking at the jar that said "Paprika" and it was almost black. I also remember all the other spices and herbs were unrecognizable. Most of them were very very dark and sticky.

I have photos of whole and ground cayenne I grew 20 years apart. One is red, and the other is black.
