Thank you, those are really insightful photos, The Nutmeg ofcourse is a good match for Vial H, and we have been through this path before.
The fact is, I no longer believe in only 11 herbs and spices, that is a marketing term. Let me explain it:
If you have a look at Colonel Sander's BBQ Sause recipe, you will notice different ingredients:
catchup Worcestershire sauce chile powder
From Wiki:
Cetchup is a sweet and tangy sauce now typically made from tomatoes, sugar, and vinegar, with assorted seasonings and spices. The specific spices and flavors vary, but commonly include onions, allspice, coriander, cloves, cumin, garlic, and mustard; and sometimes include celery, cinnamon or ginger.
The original ingredients in a bottle of Worcestershire sauce sold were: Barley malt vinegar Spirit vinegar Molasses Sugar Salt Anchovies Tamarind extract Onions Garlic Spice Flavourings The "spice" and "flavourings" are believed to include cloves, soy sauce, lemons, pickles and peppers.
Chili powder blends are composed chiefly of chili peppers and blended with other spices including cumin, onion, garlic powder, Oregano and sometimes salt.
here you see, the BBQ recipe has 10 separated herbs and spices + All the other herbs and spices contained in those three blends above!!
So, If the company went marketing the BBQ recipe, it will only say: Colonel Sanders secret recipe of 10 herbs and spices!
The second important thing that hadn't been mentioned before, and never been discussed beore about the Vials is this:
The Original recipe seasoning, half of it is produced by Griffith Laboratories before it is given to McCormick, who add the second half.
Those Vials had been produced by one of those Companies in 1985 ( It was either McCormick or Griffith I realy cannot remember now which one, but I think it was McCormick)
But neither McCormick nor Griffith know the full recipe, so how could it be able to produce the Vials that conatin all of the recipe's herbs and spices ?!
This is why I think now, and after years and years of looking at the vials photo, that it was only a Marketing thing, the number 11, the Vials, and today this new robot.. It is all about marketing.

Don't you find that the vials photo are ridiculously so accurate with the most closest revices out there?
I will only disagree with you in that matter . But i will write my new 11 herbs and spices from the vials .
A - Coriander
B - Summer savory
C - Cloves
D - Sage
E - Vanilla 80% Allspice 20%
F - Ginger
G - White pepper
H - Nutmeg
I - Celery
J - Ancho
K - Black pepper
Its weird that after all my deep photo analysis and real spice analysis . The TC34D is the closest ingredients for me . Can you Try TC34D recipe again . Just swap cardamom for nutmeg . And Bayleaf for celery .

My point is .
We are certain that there is black pepper . white pepper . ginger . Chili . Nutmeg ( now) and 5 of the vials match these spices 100% .
Wouldn't it be more reasonable to believe in the vials graph ? And that we are overthinking it ?
Don't forget that iam proving your point in nutmeg . And i wasnot happy about my Vial H analysis being smoke salt . And it is not cardamom . When i searched closely and grind my nutmeg today . Boom 100% . Vial H is nutmeg.

The thing that you don't know about the recipe TC34D , is that it was completely build on this vials photo.
You seem to think that TC34D was there, and then we found the photo of those Vials.
That was not the case, and I was part of the old forum and the first one to have the TC34D recipe after Lumpy.
But as I told you, you have to trust YOUR research and feelings, if you think TC34D recipe is the closest to the Original taste that you remember, then it is the best recipe for you.

You're correct DeepTaste. TCK took the vial photo and built the recipe around it. It seems that all information from the 40s and 50s should have been considered first and then the vial photo should have been compared to the known elements. I came late, just as the tempers and animosities raged. Simply, if I suspect an ingredient, I look to see if it possibly could fit into a vial. I don't take an individual vial and try to find an ingredient that fits it. The number 11 was simply CHS's PR slogan.

Smallgree,
My biggest problem nowadays is about:
Sage Coriander
After 10 years of research, I couldn't be able to understand their role in the OR.
I've tried both of them countless times, with all quantities that you imagaine, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1&1/4 tsp..
The combination of Pepper with sage and coriander kills all the other ingridients!
I know I can throw them away and don't use them.
But Sexton Poultry seasoning, the X99 seasoning, the Photo from KFC Japan, and too many old-timers researchers are keen about those two herb and spice.
Even those who smelled the KFC seasoning bag, said Sage is there.
Today I throw both of them away, and fried a recipe based on Oregano, Nutmeg, Mustard and Celery, and what was the result?!
The best chicken I've ever had!
I am not saying Sage and Coriander are not parts of the OR, but I am no more excited about them.

I have a given . I made : Ken v7 recipe , TC34D recipe and Ledington . and bring them to a past worker in KFC
He worked for more than 5 years since 2000's . He told me alot of stuff . He mentioned that the most important thing was them to shake the chicken pieces with the breading violently toshow those flakes in breading , that is only one of the things he mentioned .
Also he told me the extra crispy version had a different seasoning bag . And the spicy versions was marinated in salt and cayenne brine for 24 hours . There was some kind of machine that rotates the chicken with that brine to infuse the spicy flavors , Then it sit the chicken for 24 hours before using .
Anyway He and his work mates used to taste the seasoning with the breading a lot . He said to me i still remember the taste and smell as if it was yesterday .
then I showed him Ledington's recipe first . He laughed when he saw the color . I think he was laughing at me saying : that is some delusional beginner . He told me that is a joke no kfc in that shi*t . He was a hilarious man .
after that , with a big smile on my face . I tried to hit him back . Give him the K.O. With ken's v7 . He smelled it . then tasted it . then he coughed . he said this is better than the previous one . But not close to the o.r . He mentioned TOO MUCH PEPPER .
I was frustrated "because i eas sure that ken's is supposed to be the most elegant newest kfc recipe" then i showed him TC34D . He took deep breath while smelling and closed his eyes . Its like smelling memories , Then he tasted it . He opened his eyes said this is much closer . But too much cardamom . It might be no cardamom at all .
Then i was preparing msg powder in other box . I added some msg to the TC34D . Then he got amazed and told me this is 80% KFC !
He continued saying i am not exaggerating by saying that . lower the cardamom and add something instead .
anyway , i will meet him again . If anyone thinks he has a spot on recipe . i will gladly make it for him . then see what he says I have all spices and herbs in my kitchen except summer savory , vanilla bean , ancho chili .
Hope that helps batel
