Add cinnamon, celery seed, mustard powder and see if that makes it even closer.
Only 3 more ingredients, 2 if you replace the mace with one of them.

After eating the disaster of a recipe that I just cooked, which didn't express any nuttiness, had no herbal expression, and was salt and pepper deficient, this is where my heart is leading me as to a logical follow-up whereby to get things back on track.
Let's call it: Recipe #1 For 2024
200. g. Flour 32.0 g. Salt ------------------------- 3.25 g. MSG 2.50 g. White Pepper [1] 2.50 g. Black Pepper (Medium Coarse) [1] 2.50 g. 4-Color Peppercorns (Cracked) [1] 1.50 g. Coriander Seed [2] 1.00 g. Ginger [3] 0.50 g. Anise Seed [4] 0.50 g. Sage [5] 0.50 g. Savory [6] 0.50 g. Nutmeg [7] 0.25 g. Clove [8] 0.25 g. Garlic Powder [9] 0.125 g. Thyme [10] 0.125 g. Rosemary [11] 16 grams below the dashed line

Better than my previous best, which was titled 'Recipe #17': Recipe design date: October 13, 2023" I am about to mix up either one, so which would you recommend? (or both, lol).

This is a safe bet, as Release Candidate #1 is tested and approved (by my wife and I), whereas Recipe #3 for 2024 is yet to be tested. I'm looking forward to your comments.

if you Micro plane whole Nutmeg you Get the Mace and Nutmeg Value in one shot or blend both Mace and Nutmeg together 50/50 This is incorrect as mace is the lacy covering of the whole nutmeg which is removed and dried separately from the whole nutmeg. They are not sold together. Mace, when very fresh, is slightly more peppery than nutmeg. Though both have similar warmth and nuttiness. Especially as mace gets older.

Mace is the outer part of Nutmeg
Its there when you buy whole Nutmeg so when you plane it you get both parts unless Its been explained wrong for decades

They are not sold as one piece and when using whole nutmeg, you do not get mace.
