Biggest game changer in my personal history of cracking the recipe was realising that Paprika is the highest single ingredient after Salt. Much higher than any other spice, herb or pepper. This was the most simple yet toughest discovery because we are focussing a lot on commercial bags which are full of extracts and juggle with tiny amounts of herbs etc. You need Paprika in quantities so high, it would be the first item to get replaced with extracts for commercial use.
None of the popular recipes have proper amounts of Paprika. When Paprika is absent in higher quantities, other misplaced ingredients for instance have to much room to develop and can disrupt the overall flavour. This is why most of us go in circles, a bit higher here, and a bit lower there and back. Paprika keeps everything in line.
Only my personal opinion.

PERPLEXED POSTING East Frisian?
HOW much is the Proper AMOUNT TO USE?
Both recipes above use High Paprika Levels, KFC NEW AGE Bulletin's in 1970's suggested the Heavy Paprika was the Main Issue to More often Oil changes for Franchises so they changed to WASHED PAPRIKA same favor No Red Pigments to discolor the Fryer Oil

Silver How much Do You Want ?
You are correct it's Been Harder to Locate at Retail and with Spices Issue and Supply Chain main avenue's hard to get, or costly.
I will send Oleoresin extract out if it can be shipped across the Border, for Free to you. We sent Glen From friends Free Items ? BUT He is In Canada so Shipping was NOT a issue
Glen Needed the I & G that He could NOT get in small Volume at the time of His video, and we sent it to Him From Alberta He never used it In Video's unless I missed it ?
We have LOTS of Washed Paprika or Oleoresin Extract Purchase in Large volume YES WHOLESALE Volume.
What's a crazy Item is liquid Pepper at reasonable Pricing. The Price has increased on it? compared to Other items like paprika Liquid, or washed paprika
The color paprika works for HOME use as a person is NOT frying 12 Hours a day, but it will still Discolor Oils.

PERPLEXED POSTING East Frisian? Given that you occasionally have difficulty with English, I want to make sure you understand that popular means liked, enjoyed, or supported by many people. You can find the link to the Cambridge Dictionary at the bottom of this post for your convenience. With the definition now clarified, let me tell you that I haven't met anyone who praises the recipes you've shared. Not a single person. Moreover, it appears that you don't exactly disagree with me regarding Paprika. So upon further reflection, how valuable do you still consider your own comment now? dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/popular

I have never seen a recipe that DF claims to be his best recipe. With an eating report.
I don't have the patience to look at his math. But the claim seems to be on average 30% of those recipes are paprika. In reality both real recipes are the same for those 2 ingredients when factoring in the difference in flour.
Anyway it appears the claim is 4g for a 13g recipe meant for 200g flour. Hard to know for sure though.

Silver PLEASE correct the Math it was a calculation that was done in 2016 when Both recipes were compared I have NOT seen any one else compare the recipes in % value of the Items BUT that does NOT mean it has NOT been Completed Please Correct the MATH for Both recipes and post them until NOW it just shows a possible % value for ALL Items and compared between each other. I will NOT dispute Paprika in a the Recipe and KFC has OPENELY admitted its one of the 11 Herbs and Spices. Should it BE in the TOP 3 NO it's a Item to enhance the Pepper and Sage BUT NOT over Power it. Just so NO ONE SAYS KFC has never admitted the FACT Paprika was used This Photo which surfaced and was Conformed us a item of BY KFC NEW AGE Global
