I found a post on reddit where someone reports about pickles he had purchased. The packaging did not list onions or garlic but it had a very strong smell of it. He then asked the company and this was the response. Please remember I cannot verify this story. But I don't see why this person would be lying. He seemed to be rather concerned. This is quite interesting. 

“Since onions and garlic are not considered one of the eight major food allergens, a food product that uses the wording “natural flavor” or “spices” would not be required to identify if onions or garlic are being used as an ingredient. It is not considered an allergen and it is not required to be listed unless you are using the actual ingredient 'garlic'. We do not add garlic, minced garlic, garlic powder etc. We had a natural flavor that contains ingredients derived from garlic.”

Another source. A concerned customer (allergic) asked the FDA about onions and garlic being hidden under natural flavour or spices. Shared the response on Facebook with the FDA case number etc. Short answer:

HINT: PEOPLE GARLIC SALT Does NOT have to BE disclosed as Garlic Salt, it Can BE labeled as SALT as LONG as They Usually LIST Natural Ingredients

Onion and Garlic are Considered Industry Standard to List on Ingredients DUE to PREFERRED Taste and More people ask if there are ONION or Garlic in ingredients then ANY OTHER KNOWN in the Food Industry.

I will Challenge ANYONE ANYONE to make the Chicken with the Ingredient LIST Anthony has supplied and TELL the Forum HOW much Aroma there is in reference to the KFC.

USE just the 11 Herbs and Spices and see WHAT its Like then make a second Batch and add the Celery Garlic Onion. compare the Aroma Difference.

I will also State that 15 is the INCORRECT Number of items also in the TOTAL recipe

YES Anthony is Correct the Fat and Flour was Changed BY Heublin THEY ALSO Changed the PEPPER.

Give Away Bill S. said that there is NOT enough Tellicherry Black Pepper for KFC International Use. Yes Tellicherry is ONLY size I'm Not a idiot.
The Change Happen when there was a 2 YEAR Time period that Black Pepper Being grown Had been destroyed By Natural disasters and they Had to Harvest Early which caused MAJOR Black Pepper size decrease potential, and shortage of Large Black peppercorns.

Is it Possible that they also changed From Red Peppercorn to White Peppercorn HUM just a thought?

I have ate the Original KFC chicken and crapped the Bones out and C.H.S. cooked Chicken on many mission trips, FROM scratch which I attended, I Do Not need to be told what it taste like.

I possibly also Have second largest collection of C.H.S. memorabilia and BUY more weekly. The only Larger collect of items is KFC NEW AGE and I have sold them many items they needed, over decades.
