My first thought was ok, small neighbourhood grocery chain providing essential groceries and household items to local customers. So the range of items would be really limited. However, ChatGBT said this:
"In addition to traditional grocery items, Harmons also carried some specialized products, such as bulk foods, health foods, and international foods. Many of these products were difficult to find at other grocery stores at the time. They carried a range of products from around the world, including ingredients and products for preparing ethnic cuisine, as well as imported snacks, candies, and other treats."
If this statement is correct, the entire story becomes obsolete I'm afraid. Maybe someone from the area can confirm this.

They became more diverse in the international realm after 1960's while in the 1950's they were a Grocery Store with Pharmaceutical in Salt lake City under the Flagship of AP Grocery wholesale I posted it on the Forum full detail from 1950's

Look at what mixes were marketed at that time.

One must understand that in the 1950's there were Many NEW BLENDS that emerged on the Market Shelves BUT MORE AFTER 1955.
Between 1950 and 1955 there were the same ones which were available since the 1930's then the explosion to NEW items and the BBQ Crazy started to Hit the Market place.
C.H.S. was a Front Runner to the BBQ Craze and sold Brown and Massey His Porky Pig Concept Franchise 1 year before they bough KFC.
C.H.S. was also involved in the Spice Box called McCormick Outdoor Spice Kit 1956

Ok so I have real KFC maybe 2 or 3 times a year. Had some tonight from a remodelled but original store by me.
No not even a hint of a KFC note smell. Zero at the store
Chicken had a more orange tinge than I have ever saw. Not the normal brown
Zero KFC note smell in the bucket. I’ll keep it overnight to confirm.
Greasy as you’d expect
Zero no KFC note. To the point it was a far cry from it’s original state
Not much pepper taste even. I found a under cooked hidden breading where I could taste pepper but nothing else
People building OR recipes on todays KFC with .0675g grams of herbs are off track. There isn’t that much

Complete disgrace to what this company was. And, I will tell you it was better 10 years ago even. Total decline isn’t even something you could set a benchmark against.
Absolutely zero point in cloning what I ate tonight. Beat that my last 6 or 7 cooks hands down.
There is no note now so if you don’t remember it. Good luck to you in solving this.

Todays OR recipe:
For every cup of flour add:
1 teaspoon black pepper 1.5 teaspoon paprika 1 teaspoon MSG 1 tablespoon Salt
Cut chicken in incredibly small pieces. Nothing but legs and wings need be identifiable to what part of the chicken it came from.
Make sure just enough flour to coat. Don’t be excessive.
Cook until sufficiently greasy or over cooked enough and serve

The easiest path to "overly greasy" Chicken is to open deep fry it at below ~270 degrees F. (~132 degrees C.).

I would have KFC twice a year on road trips. Just to see where its going, not expecting anything. Last years, I just tasted Salt, Pepper and MSG. No note. This year, even the pepper aroma was gone! I will never step a foot in a KFC again. It tasted like rotisserie chicken where the bird would hang for 6 hours going through its second death. Absolute disgrace. CHS would blush and spit this stuff out.
