11 Spices and Herbs / 11 Herbs and Spices
I have Posted this Too Many Times and it Does not get the Feed Back it needs to Help everyone.
C.H.S. Coined the Phrase " 11 Secret Spices and Herbs" when this was done the Original seasoning was RED.
After Masset and Brown Purchased the Company and then Hubein Purchase it
The Spice color Changed and also the Words used Changed to "11 Herbs and Spices"
is this a Big thing or NOT ?
in the Vials are there more Spices or Herbs ?

Based upon my efforts in using 'GIMP' to enhance and attempt to tweak out some green within the vials photos there are only 3 potential herbs within the vials. B, D, and possibly I
In her book, CHS's daughter stated that there are not many Herbs in the recipe.
I have no idea as to where the 6 herbs and 5 spices idea originated.

It wouldn't matter if each of the "green" vials were actually combinations. Like sage and savory. By weight herbs are the lowest combined amount.
What ever CHS called it and what the CORP does today is irrelevant in this argument. Spices out weigh herbs.

There is more than 11 ingredients because atleast 1 or two of the vials is a mix containing more than 1 ingredient. My guess is 1 of the herb vials is a mix of herbs, next vial is the 11th ingredient which is a mix, and possibly there is a third individual vial that is also a mix.

To see if Herbs really matter, perhaps something along the lines of this proposed 'test bed' Herb Free recipe needs to be tried:
200 grams Cake Flour
31 grams Salt
7 grams MSG
2.5 grams Black Pepper (1)
2.5 grams White Pepper (2)
1.25 grams Coriander Seed (3)
1.25 grams Ginger (4)
0.50 grams Anise Seed (5)
0.50 grams Cayenne Pepper (6)
0.25 grams Clove (7)
0.25 grams Nutmeg (8)
0.25 grams Mace (9)
0.25 grams Cardamom (10)
0.25 grams Garlic Powder (11)

I will say this that BOTH FDA and CFIA Both state that Celery, Onion, Garlic ARE NOT LIST as Spices or Herbs
If that is true then Non of those can be in the Vials

KFC can put whatever they desire into their vials. The FDA and CFIA don't know the secret recipe, and have no involvement with the vials.
