I just made yet another guess as to a potential 99-X-Like 25 Ounce recipe: 5 Oz. MSG 5 Oz. Black Pepper (1) 5 Oz. White Pepper (2) 2 Oz. Fine Flake Salt 2 Oz. Sage (3) 2 Oz. Coriander (4) 2 Oz. Ginger (5) 1/2 Oz. Mace (6) 1/2 Oz. Clove (7) 1/4 Oz. Cayenne Pepper (8) 1/4 Oz. Thyme (9) 1/4 Oz. Savory (10) 1/4 Oz. Marjoram (11)

When constrained to 25 ounces (with no cheating allowed) I can't see much wiggle room for beneficial improvement here, but I encourage everyone to present such if they think they have a better solution while keeping it at 11 H&S.

Are we looking at today’s 99x or earlier. If today’s please go read the research JWOZ has done on Ken’s forum. There are at minimum 3 values that can’t be ignored in my opinion. Those are MSG, SALT and Marjoram.
All others seem to be tangled in some way.
If you are thinking 99x from the 70’s this looks like a potential for sure.

For one thing it detected almost no Coriander Seed based oils, whereas Coriander Seed is item #2 on the 99-X ingredients list.

Exactly why I mentioned these 3 elements as having much higher reliability in the analysis. The rest of them were admitted to be "tangled" a bit with each other. And took some interpretation. Therefore levels set upon where other ingredients sharing that shared oils had been placed already. MSG, Salt and Marjoram I think are reliable numbers in his analysis.
Snippit from the analysis.
"Let’s start with Salt. Tests indicate that 99-X contains 5.375g of salt. These tests were run via titration (using a few different methods of titration) by a number of different labs. Probably 10 tests were run in total, with different containers of 99-X that were purchased at different times being tested. All samples were well blended. There was one outlier test, but all the other tests were consistent and pointed to 5.375g of salt."

Begin with the premise of such an acceptance, and then propose a viable 25 ounce constrained recipe.

Based on the research JWOZ did and the labeling of the product. And some work I had done on Sexton's Poultry seasoning. This is my interpretation of the current 99x. Rounded up for ease of interpretation.
MSG 9g White Pepper 6g Black Pepper 3g Salt 5.4g Sage .5g Coriander .3g Allspice .15g Jamaican Ginger .15g Thyme .15g Marjoram .125g Savory .125g cayenne .1g
Totals: 25g
