I bought tarragon a couple months back. But it hasn't made it into a recipe as of yet, it's on the list for one day. What I may do is cook a half dozen wings with just tarragon, salt and flour to get the taste of it.

A tossed bone or two is the least I can ask. 😁

Credit for Tarragon actually goes back to before my venture into KFC cloning. Deep Taste was using it before I even got into this game.

I'd say tarragon is the biggest discovery i have made so far, i can't believe i overlooked that herb so many times. Glad I could help in this regard, plus in the bonus regard that Tarragon introduces licorice. A tossed bone or two is the least I can ask. I don't mean any disrespect but you weren't the deciding factor for why i used the tarragon. Ken was the first one who got me interested in tarragon about two years ago when i saw him mention it has an anise flavour to it. I have always believed there is an anise profile to the O.R. I tried to make fennel, aniseed, star anise work but i just couldn't. It was my own decision to use the tarragon.

Nobody on here influenced my decision to use the tarragon. I literally only found out AFTER that Deep Taste was a supporter of it which just further confirmed it for me.

Tarragon is a great herb, with Oregano they are my favourites.
One of the 4 critics that tested KFC in 1974 detected Tarragon!
We know it was used in the Coleslaw and KFC went to the trouble to prevent Famous Recipe from using it.
But now I need to focus, there is a recipe that needs all my senses here.

I went back and checked what you told me to do silver, you told me to do exactly what i already said i was going to do, "might try replacing savory with tarragon and removing aniseed from that list" remove aniseed from the list as in from the recipe.

DT When i trialed the tarragon yesterday it instantly reminded me of the liquorice flavour i detected as child. I can still detect it today but it is very faint and almost unrecognizable.

One key to be taken from the above is the emphasis that Roy Andries de Groot placed upon the H&S being present only in "minuscule amounts".
