 740 grams = 26.1 ounces (which for the specific case of 200 grams of flour scales to a "bag" weighing 13.05 grams) Ingredients: Flavor Enhancer 621, Spices, Herbs, Salt. (whereby E621 = MSG) Thus the weight of MSG exceeds the weights of all Spices, which then exceed the weights of all herbs, which then exceed the weights of all salt. Whatever may be the labeling law requirements for Australia, they appear to be quite different from such laws as understood in the USA. Does the Australian law imply that MSG is present at a greater weight amount than for any single representative ingredient present within the "spice" family, etc...? And if so, then how does salt wind up dead last? Is there actually less salt than for other any single ingredient? Or does this ordering mean that the weight of MSG exceeds he collective sub total of all spices, and that the collective sub total of all spices exceeds the weight of the collective sub total of all herbs, which then collectively exceed the weight of salt? And precisely how does one scale this to 200 grams of flour, whereby to have it also be a dead ringer match to the labeling law of the USA, and also that of Canada? |

 And in the second bag they listed Herbs and Spices before MSG. I think they have noticed that MSG shouldnt have been listed before, or it will give the wrong impression that it weighs more than the sum of the whole Herbs and Spices, which is not the case, but MSG weighs more than any separate Herb or Spice. Another question here, why mention Herbs before Spices, we know Pepper, a Spice, Weighs more, and the sum of Spices will exceed the sum of herbs, shouldn't they write Spices and Herbs ? DT |

Deep Taste, do you know the approximate year of this Louisville, KY bag? All of these MSG, spice, herb, and salt weights are becoming totally confusing.

Another observation is that the Australia bag does not list garlic, whereas the USA bag does. There are indeed garlic and onion allergies. One of my Son-In-Law's suffers horribly from it.

It is more about that they consider Garlic, Onion and Celery as food, not spices, and they should be declared in labeling.
There are 8 Big allergens in USA that should be decalred according to the law (no garlic onion or celery among those 8) and now they are willing to add sesame as the 9th allergen to the list.

The marinate of chicken contains also MSG, so in the end product, the MSG may exceed the spices

Try as I might, I can not find an official KFC USA ingredients listing. It appears that KFC redirects to their website in Canada for this.

When I try to go to KFC Australia's ingredients and nutrition website, I'm met with 'Access is Forbidden'. Wow!!!
