Vial K looks a lot like black pepper to me. Always thought Vial H would be Celery Seed. Ditched it only because of corporate allergen lists to be honest. One of the yummiest spices ever. Always had great results with it. Time to bring back Celery Seed. Maybe this is where your Anise fondness really comes from. Perhaps I will need to cook the new 60 Oz. bag compliant recipe twice. Once with Anise Seed, and once with Celery Seed. Vial 'H' (when enlarged) does look like small seeds. And it is no secret that I have a soft spot for the delicious flavor of Celery Seed.

Not that it likely matters, but by playing with various of the color balancing tools, etc... available within 'GIMP' (the 'GNU Image Manipulation Program') I'm now able to positively inform you that only vials B,D, and I can be coaxed to exhibit green (unless one makes the entire image green), so these three are thereby likely to be Herbs. Which herbs? Who knows... Vial K has some green in other photos on the photographers website, in my opinion. The one held in front of Rogers blue shirt with white buttons, for instance.

I thought celery seed was your better half's fave? (just kidding, lol). cfc Very true. But I've had 43 years now for it to become a favorite of mine also.

IMHO, if the plastic vial case is not white/white and the wall (which is most likely a "18% reflective neutral gray card" used as the background, as photos often included them back in pre-digital days when film was involved) is not gray, the photo is way off in color rendition. www.scantips.com/lights/graycard.html

I can't 'picture' it, so I will just have to disagree with this assessment.

When the image is enlarged Vials 'G' and 'J' also appear to be small seeds.

My best recipe to date (my "As Cooked Recipe #17") didn't contain any derivation of Oregano, so that has me questioning if Oregano is actually required to be one of the 11. Derivations: ---------------- Greek Oregano Italian Oregano Mediterranean Oregano Marjoram Mexican Oregano Others?
