This hearkens me back to a recipe I designed at least a year ago but never tried:
200 grams Cake Flour (1-1/2 cups) 3.0 grams White Pepper (1-1/3 TSP) 2.5 grams Black Pepper (1-1/8 TSP) 1 package of Original Good Seasons Italian Dressing Powder with MSG, 0.7 Oz. 1 package of Original Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Powder with MSG, 1 Oz.
Plus as an update I would likely add about 1/2 gram of Allspice as well. (~1/4 TSP)
It doesn't get more simple than this.

Problem is, this is Crispy chicken in the photo not the Original recipe!

Problem is, this is Crispy chicken in the photo not the Original recipe! DT It's not likely to be the OR in the recipe either, but it seems to hit a good number of OR_like buttons, sans that it needs more pepper.

I noticed that the Good Seasons Italian dressing contains carrots. Any of the clone recipes I looked at do not

Did your second to last cook have vegetables that included carrots? No carrots. It had vegetables and orange peel If you pulse it in a coffee grinder the carrots and other vegetable chunks within Good Seasons Italian will turn to dust and not be seen within the coating mix.

The pre-packaged mix I used. I went old school mortise and pestle on it. And you are correct it was powder when I was done with it.
(onions, garlic, tomatoes, red bell pepper, parsley, spices, orange peel, canola oil.)
