Now that I have Mexican Oregano, I'm seeking advice as to how much to add for a coating recipe based upon 200 grams of flour.
More specifically, would 0.30 grams be too much?

I know my Harp Sings the same song but it's the ONLY one I know how to play.
Start it at .40 BUT highly recommend Doing the Wing Test or trying some on a fried Egg, or Pasta.
I know some will say that its a Chicken Crap comment BUT I WILL ALSO SAY THIS NOT ALL Spices are The SAME and unless I received the same Lot and Batch as the spice you are using it becomes a similar situation to the 100 YEAR OLD PHRASE. Salt to Taste it works with ALL recipes.
Cilantro is a BIG SPICE that is a HIT or MISS for many and my question IF A RECIPE A TRUE AND TESTED AWARD WINNING RECIPE says use 2 teaspoon of Cilantro HOW MUCH WOULD YOU PUT IN IF YOUR FAMILY HATE'S IT ?
I DO NOT CARE what recipe it is WE change it to Fit the Profile where the most people will enjoy it.
Oregano Is and Can be a Strong Spice BUT it Does BLEND GREAT WITH WHITE PEPPER and it's ONE of the Few which Does in Our experience.
Batch of chicken wings just Open Fried or Pressure Fried is your BEST TEST, it coats with seasoning better then other individual Pieces and the perfect size for Testing. I have always recommend to people BUY chicken wings on sale and freeze them in 6 or 8 portion Bags and use them for your Chicken experiments

Cilantro was a example of Spice's ONLY which People seem to hate more then ANY other so I ONLY used it as a reference in this Thread.
We Don Not use it as to many people dislike it.

On a whim, I tried something really off the wall during breakfast today. While eating scrambled eggs, I liberally sprinkled some Mexican Oregano onto them. To my great surprise the flavor was spectacular, and now I may have to add Mexican Oregano to my scrambled eggs from now on. To me it doesn't taste like 'regular' Oregano or Marjoram at all. I wouldn't dare place either of those on (or in) my scrambled eggs.
Additionally, whomever said that Mexican Oregano is stronger tasting and more pungently bitter than 'regular' Oregano (as can be seen on just about any spice website) must be insane. It is both highly aromatic and flavorful, yet mild, and anything but the way it is so often described.
I'm beginning to think that the spice websites are parrots. Someone says something (right or wrong) and the rest read it and then parrot it on their own sites. And as such there is a lot of bad information out there regarding spices, and spice substitutes.

I'm not suggesting it as a direct substitute, but I can see now why Mexican Oregano is also occasionally referred to as Mexican Sage.
Caution: There are several spices that are called Mexican Sage. My comment refers only to Lippia Graveolens.

No Sage. No Oregano or Marjoram.

My wife made a tomato sauce and ground meat based Spaghetti today using Mexican Oregano instead of Italian Oregano, and it was fantastic. Afterwards she threw out our container of rather aging Italian Oregano, saying that it would just take up space and no longer get used. We are both sold on the Mexican Oregano.

The two main oils found within Mexican Oregano are carvacrol and thymol. The two main oils found within Savory are carvacrol and thymol.
The single main oil found within the various of Mediterranean Oregano's is carvacrol.
Can Mexican Oregano kill two (or possibly three) birds with one stone? (I.E., can it replace both Savory and Oregano, and possibly also Thyme)
If yes, then maintaining 11 H&S becomes a lot easier...
