My radical thought for the day (snide and veiled humor edition): I cooked a recipe that was absolutely great. Edit: From here forward all of my absolutely great recipes will be announced just as for this one, as public forums with the express purpose of advancing recipes publicly deserve nothing more or less than this. Edit #2: All of my absolutely great recipes are very photogenic, and their absolute greatness is 100% indicated via mouth watering photographs of deep fried and/or pressure fried chicken. (Note: That my less than great to outright awful recipes photograph identically to my absolutely great recipes is certifiably of no consequence.) You know we have worked together for awhile now on recipes. I've been too busy at work to reply and to be honest almost didn't. There are some attitudes here that need to be put in check. You want my recipe? You know you will get it. But this from you was just NOT what I expected.
And as I mentioned decided at breakfast to do a cook. So not like I had a bunch of time to type out and plan my recipe.

Cold eating of my last minute rush recipe.
- It was good for sure. But when I dusted what felt like a microscopic amount of black pepper on it. It was where I wanted it from the pepper side. - I never tried basil before so that was the main goal. Didn't make anything better in my opinion. My previous cook was "better". - Every time I start to raise the amount of herbs it just isn't right to me. There is fine line for me in the amount of herbs the recipe needs. By amount I mean weight.
I know bag labeling from KFC seems to indicate White Pepper out weighs black. I kind of feel by the time we see these. He already was using some pepper extracts. So I'm not fixated on White Pepper being the top dog.
Recipe as cooked
For 200g flour and 28g salt
5g Pepper (White 3g and Black 2g) 3g MSG 1.3g salt (garlic) 1g Sage .6g Allspice .6g Red Pepper .6g coriander .35g Basil .3g ginger .3g Thyme .15g Marjoram .15g Savory .15g Oregano
Not compliant with any bag weight. Meant to try a blend of 6 herbs including basil

Nice report. I place zero credence in the 6 herbs and 5 spices theory. I still think there are at most 3 herbs. I reached the same conclusion that Basil is not recognizable. As to white pepper, when I made the recipe which contained 5 grams of white pepper and no black pepper it had a muddy pepper taste.

It's the Grinds of Pepper that make the Proper Pepper Original KFC Flavored Chicken.
LOOK at the OLDEST OLDEST KFC Bags and Even the Oldest Marion Kay Chicken Seasoning bags to SEE the Listing of the Pepper ?

My radical thought for the day:
The two handfuls of wonder ingredient that CHS added to the 'boat trip' chicken was Coriander Seed.

Don't believe that anyone who had a championship fried chicken recipe (remember the consensus is that the recipe was set during the 1930s) would throw in something radical, without prior testing, for a suck large order. It defies logic. Wouldn't you have done that with a smaller order?

Many reports C.H.S. Gave where He commented "He knew about the Item, and was familiar with it BUT NOT in Fried chicken other Dishes".
A example: M.S.G was advertised for Vegetables Seasoning first, They Never Promoted it for Fried Chicken until after the 1950's.
If you Follow what some of the TOP Staff mentioned about the Ingredient Back in that Time Period Commented: It was similar looking to a confection Salt appearance
C.H.S. also called it a ELEMENT NOT a Herb or Spice. He also mentioned that He had the 11 Spices and Herbs working perfect for 16 years Prior to adding the Two handfuls.
ONLY what is Printed in Articles. 1000 Articles all said He made the original 11 Spices and Herbs in 1939 and ONE Page shows 10 or 11 and EVERYONE jumps on the 1 ONE article which mentions 10 ? ? ?
100 Million Ad's KFC has Put out WORLD WIDE in 60 years that the Original Recipe 11 Herbs and Spices since 1939.
Coriander as a 12 ingredient Bill S. Marion kay added I would suggest is MOST POSSIBLE
