Pay close attention to: E627 = Disodium guanylate E631 = Disodium inosinate E621 = MSG Spice and Herb Extracts Glucose (I,E., Sugar) Sodium Citrate (A source for the citrus flavor) Maltodextrin
This is for a Thigh:

This should put to bed any notion that Disodium inosinate and Disodium guanylate (I+G) are not present within the OR. They are! Thus the conception that the 'effective' MSG within the 26 ounce bag lies within the range of 6.0 to 7.0 ounces is definitively incorrect.
This is not to say that 6.0 to 7.0 ounces is technically incorrect, but rather to say that without the presence of I+G to 4-fold boost its flavor enhancing impact, MSG alone would need to be in the vicinity of 24 to 28 ounces.

This should also lay rest to conceptions that sugar, maltodextrin, and citrus are not part of the essential mix. And it confirms that herb and spice extracts are part of the mix also.

When would CHS been able to reliably get his hands on I+G? Approx what year. Curious how long that the OR may have survived only on MSG.
Then the question would be what was the spice bag weight before this time and/or was extra MSG added outside of it.
Well we all assumed extracts were being used. It more reads like extracts ARE whats being used. Is the rest of the bag MSG, I+G, some salt and pepper and garlic and the rest carrying and anti clumping ingredients?

Disodium inosinate was fully identified, isolated, and chemically synthesized in 1913. And ditto for Disodium guanylate in 1957. But both also occur naturally and thus can be found within natural food sources.

Is the rest of the bag MSG, I+G, some salt and pepper and garlic and the rest carrying and anti clumping ingredients? There is indeed one chemical analysis that found only these items (minus the garlic and I+G).

It more reads like extracts ARE whats being used. It does seem that it could read that way, as the earlier mention of spice is linked to Pepper.

Disodium inosinate and Disodium guanylate (I+G)
Was a Later though item that was incorporated when the WORLD was becoming SALT conscious.
KFC NEW AGE used it during that time period to help say there Salt Content was LOWER LOL LOL LOL
its all in relationship to the Salt Concern in the World Time Period. KFC did not originally list the use as they left it under the MSG label

Polysorbates are often used to solubilize essential oils into water-based products. It seems as if herb and spice extracts in the form of essential oils were not a part of the 'note' there would be little need for Polysorbates.
