This was the list that was printed in overseas countries regarding the KFC chicken.
This was shown over a 10 year time period and in some areas was posted in some countries in many chicken items as ingredient or allergens
Salt, MSG,
Black Pepper Ground, White Pepper Ground, Paprika, Chilli powder, Black Pepper Medium, Coriander, Marjoram, Celery, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Red Pepper,
Paprika extract, turmeric extract

So when KFC state that Paprika is one of the 11 and print it on their packaging, they are what? a) lying b) referring their post-colonel 11 c) can't distinguish between paprika and (chili) peppers

As posted paprika either diminished in the time from 1939 to sometime in the early 70's or largely became an extract. I do remember the chicken in and around the early 70's in Canada being more red then now. It's pretty brown now almost tan locally in my area.

You have to zoom in on the first picture to get the correct colour. Dunno why.
First picture: Real paprika used.
Second picture: "Let's go golden and use turmeric. Forget Paprika, we will use some extracts."
Third picture: "Forget Tumeric AND Paprika. Let's do extracts of both."

Please understand where the MAJOR MAJOR change happen.
Think about the Time Zone hear its very important in the FULL BUCKET
NEW AGE KFC started a Crunchy Chicken Campaign it went NUTS more then NUTS in the time period it was the See how loud of a Crunch you could make with the chicken bite.
The ONLY way the Crunch could be obtained was more items added to the Flour and Seasoning to make it crunchy IE: Corn Flour, Potato Starch, Baking Powder, ETC ETC. The problem in changing the Flour to make it extra crunchy more snap crackle pop. The cooking changed the Color to a almost burnt LOOK. Dark color KFC had to change the Sweet Pepper Cayenne Paprika to a Turmeric. KFC then Jumped on the Golden Brown Chicken.
Look at other Chicken Companies who make Great Chicken with crunch Meme's Kitchen as a example GREAT CHICKEN BUT the LOOKS burned all the time

That video almost makes me want to travel to Texas. I found it interesting that it is open deep fried, and not pressure fried. It doesn't appear burnt to me.

if you listen to the narrator he specifically says WHY SO DARK ?
Yes there are many Chicken locations which are using open Deep Fryers
CHS said this many times:
We didn’t have fried chicken when we first started. In those days, fried chicken took a long time to prepare. I didn’t have the fast method that I worked up later.
My new method made it both practical and palatable. It wasn’t until nearly two years after I opened my Corbin place that I started tinkering with chicken.
These were CHS words and the Skillet Frying was to slow. BUT he always said the Skillet Frying was just as Good as the Pressure Fried just Quicker.

The ingredients on the back of a KFC Original Recipe Seasoning bag are listed as; Monosodium Glutamate, Herbs and Spices, Salt, Garlic Powder. It's not so much what you see, as what you don't see that is telling. would this not hold true for onion powder as well. Like garlic would it not have to be listed? Yes. So, Onion is not in it.
