In the end it is just as I originally speculated, such that compliance with 2 x 740 gram bags merely allows for more MSG, just as I have been using all along. I can now justify my level of MSG on this basis alone.

This could be my final/final recipe stab as to 'general' compliance with the 740 gram bag (26.1 Oz.). Full compliance is achieved when MSG is 3.00 grams, but I+G boosts MSG a nominal 4-Fold, and thus 12 grams of MSG (due to no I+G). First a note as to (potentially at least) why 26.1 ounce is justified as opposed to 26 ounce: By law in the USA it is legal to sell products at higher than their listed weight, but illegal to sell at lower. Given any potential for mass packaging related fill mechanism anomalies and scale accuracy deviation, most goods are actually packaged at slightly more than their listed weight (or volume for liquids). That plus 26.1 grams = 740 grams, and Metric nations use 740 gram bags.

A thought as to how to 'potentially' (and rapidly) get closer to the classic soft/greasy crust:
Lightly spray each of the finished chicken pieces with a butter flavored oil spray.

I easily get that with the chicken on a rack in the oven covered with foil. As mentioned in my cooks. Last time I had closer to today's grease. LOL

Should also add. If you turn the chicken once during this you end up with a nice consistent soft and "greasy" skin

I won't have Star Anise in my final. I'm down to the order of ginger, coriander and sage as to their ratio's.

I've always figured that as we collectively get closer to the goal our recipe formulations should also grow closer in overall makeup.

Is Sage the top dog behind pepper and if you use it garlic salt. Or is it ginger? I tried Coriander as top billing and I would say on it's own it is not. Silver I see you are closing in on 1g each sage and ginger. Certainly one of my versions has this as well. I also have 1g each ginger and coriander. May have to cook both versions I guess. I made a chart of the 99x analysis and some top billing recipes and there isn't a clear indication from those. I did see some folks just set them all the same. Which probably works, not 100% but may not be overly negative.

I thought about bumping both Sage and Ginger to 1 gram. To be more honest, I had them that way, then lost my nerve...

For those brave enough to whip up 10 times a single batch, or for those who distrust the accuracy of their scale at 0.10 grams, I offer this 740 gram bag compliant recipe (when MSG is added at 30 grams), and which achieves 1.00 grams for both Sage and Ginger when scaled to 200 grams of flour.
