I think one Part of KFC Chicken that is NOT discussed enough is the Split Multiple Taste it has:
On one side People speak about Pepper, Pepper, Pepper when there is also a Under tone of the Rosemary, Thyme, Oregano, Sage depth in the Pepper
then there is a second side where you get a Cinnamon, Allspice, Ginger
and Slat, MSG over tone.
so a 3 sided taste bomb.

What's a issue that pop's up continual is There are Few who know the Original KFC Taste and texture Pre 1980's Crispy Golden Brown Coated Chicken.
The Original Chicken:
Was a Melt in your mouth Coating which was Greasy and Soft NOW a Crispy coating. it was flavored to the Bone which was reddish around the Bone. Visually the color was a Reddish Rose color NOT a Golden Brown Color. Super Moist liquid meat with seasoning to through out the Meat. There was Very little to NO Dry Chicken the white meat was moist also. There was a Wish Bone in the Meat which typically Pealed away from the Wishbone.
The Outer Coating typically Pealed off similar to a Orange peal size portion the Coating was typically molded to the Meat with the occasional missing spots.
You could Freeze the Chicken and Bake it Days later and there was a slight change in the Taste and texture BUT it was still Great and had aroma.

I Agree it is BUT you have had some of the Original Chicken and remember it.
I would hope other would describe the Original Chicken Experience

The Original Colonel Chicken has a under-taste of the Herbs on a Lowers side. it was NOT over-powering or over the top.
when I say Herbs referencing the Herb's like the Oregano, Marjoram, Thyme, Rosemary, Sage, Savory side of Herb's
The Cinnamon, Clove, Allspice, were a Middle flavor.
The Salt & Peppers were the Highest Flavor
so a Three way blend of Spice and Flavor Blend.
In a NEW AGE KFC you can sometimes get the Blends of ALL BUT ONLY if the Flour was just sifted and the Chicken was a Fresh Batch
AT home cooking the BEST way to achieve a higher spice and herb amount is to Pre-Dust with flour and then sprinkle some Dry Spice and Herb on the Chicken first of over the Pre-Dust then Water Splash Dunk the Chicken and let it sit for 3 Minutes Before Milk & Egg Warsh and Rolling in the Spice and Herb seasoned flour. In Old Comments CHS made the milk and Egg Warsh had Salt and Pepper added to the Milk Warsh.
