If you did, how did it turn out? I am going to be trialling both nigella and turmeric.
When I first ever tasted nigella seeds my instant reaction was "this must be in kfc!!" it has both an oniony and peppery flavour that could go well with the chicken.
I've always thought there is absolutely no way turmeric is in the recipe but now i'm thinking it could work well. Also, in that red seasoning picture the paper tray holding the seasoning has staining that looks very similar to what turmeric would do.

Turmeric has been list by KFC as a color additive spice ?
I also recall Kraft listed it on KD Mac & Cheese as a color additive to cheese Packages
when we added Turmeric the chicken was a more golden color, Flavor was more earthy flavor
Nigella we tried it to see if it gave Black Fleck visual on the coating BUT we also tried Poppy Seed around the same time. We use such low amounts There was NO taste plus or minor effect BUT we used Minimal Minimal amounts.
This last days we have been using SEASAME SEEDS ground. YOU DEFINATELY get a taste from Sesame Seed
