Clearly only vials B, D, and I contain herbs.

My best effort yet at color correction and enhancing the 'Vials' photo: Too much red for me on these.

The best that can be done is to set the white background to white. If the background isn't white, the colors are fake. And if the colors are off even with a white background it's because the films bias was not a match for the lighting. In which case there is no hope for setting it right. If there was an 18% neutral gray card in the image, that would help.

The shadows within the gap across the cabinets are close to neutral gray, so I don't think it can be tweaked significantly much better. You are welcome to try.

The original had a terrible blue tint bias, perhaps from a flash, or perhaps from fluorescent lighting, or both.

Because most people don’t have calibrated monitors and calibrated to the same setting. What looks right on one persons won’t on the other. Even if this photo was more neutral. I have 2 versions that I split hairs on as being the best it can be. I can share them next time I’m on it. But they may not look the same to you as per above.

You have to be careful not to crush the detail. This is probably the best I can do and you can still see the test tubes and see the plastic case they are in.

Notice the "white band" that arcs across the tubes. Much more correction and it goes away. The labels on the test tube is the best you can compare to other photos.
