The bottom line seems to be that if your balance of ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and Allspice is decent, there is no need to add expensive Cardamom. If you are benefiting from Cardamom, then well and good, but addressing these other ingredients seems more economically prudent.

If you are benefiting from Cardamom, then well and good, but addressing these other ingredients seems more economically prudent. I have cooked with cardamom and it’s not just those substitutes. It is different. It has a citrus taste and smell. Or mine did. And it made the whole seasoning mix smell great. But what has kept me from saying it’s in the OR. Is the price. If it was once there, when the recipe was sold. It would have been an immediate cost cut. In my opinion
