I finally got around to weighing some salt today, and;
1) My "table grind" salt weighs in at ~6.6 grams per teaspoon.
2) My "flour grind" salt weighs in at about 5.4 grams per teaspoon.
It seems that the finer the grind, the lower the packing density. I presume that this would likely hold true for any solid.
