It doesn't say that the use of MSG began in 1956.

It indicated it was used in 1956 in the 100Lbs Barrels so we know MSG was used in that Year ?

The question is always whether we can believe what is said / what we read.
But if we take this at face value, then it does say that MSG was in use in 1956. It doesn’t say that MSG was first used on that date, so perhaps it was used earlier, or perhaps not. But it says that it was being used by 1956 at least.
It also indicates that MSG was not counted as one of the 11 H&S.
