PLEASE DO YOUR research on Sugar originally as a SPICE
I'm NOT saying it was used or not used BUT review what the OLD references say about the Taste of the Chicken.
ONE even makes reference to Tiny Goblets of in the Chicken sweet

I'm all in for getting a flavor boost in the right direction via adding a few grams of Dextrose, and perhaps also a few grams of Maltodextrin.
MSG tastes more like a sugar than it does a salt. It tastes mildly salty at best. But the Glutamate ion is huge by comparison to the sodium ion, outweighing it by about a factor of 7, and the Glutamate ion is a sugar.

Adding Sugar to the Milk and Egg Warsh makes it have more adhesive quality and does NOT cause a Deep Brown to the Coating

Adding Sugar to the Milk and Egg Warsh makes it have more adhesive quality and does NOT cause a Deep Brown to the Coating How many grams of sugar go into an egg wash that is only at the size of 1 egg in 1 cup of milk? Table Sugar or Dextrose?

we have added between 1/2 to 1 tablespoon of either Sugar, Brown Sugar or Confectionary Sugar We always make sure its fine so it dissolves To test your recommendation, I just did a pressure fry and added 1/2 tsp of dextrose to 1 egg and 1 TBSP of cornstarch for my wash. It came out really dark and no sweetness at all in the skin. In the past, I've tried adding dextrose to the flour mix and it turned the chicken dark also. Imo, I wouldn't recommend adding dextrose to your wash or flour. cfc

I've never had it go dark with 2 grams of Dextrose if I deep fry by dropping at 325 F., and cooking at 275 F.

Did you notice any detectable sweetness in the skin?
