so lets see how much it cost to recreate KFC chicken.
Todd Wilbur spent Approximately $ 217.00 or around that US funds when he was in the store buying all items for his cooking.
Plus he used a $80,000.00 mobile Cooking Truck.
In my personal experience it has Gone way over board and into the $10,000.00 to WELL over 6 figures with ALL the memorabilia commercial cookers and PLUS PLUS PLUS.
In Canada I can say that if a person went to a Bulk Barn and purchased 11 Spices and Herbs Salt Flour and cooking Oil for the first COOK you would be in excess of $150.00 for your cook off.
My Price of $150.00 would be a CHEAP cost and chicken purchased on sale
.BUT what you can make at home even if NOT a correct direct NEW AGE KFC comparison you are getting good chicken and having fun. while killing a afternoon for prep and cooking FOR SURE and ALL DAY for many.
once you have the Basic items it then becomes a Price over addiction for the creation and what you want to try.
BUT ITS NOT CHEAP

I agree one can come close
IF anyone thinks they can achieve a NOTE aroma from a silver bullet 1 Ingredient Wonder
We have tried many times and as far as my concern comes
Elu recipe is a Close Bang for the Buck Aroma and Smell BUT ONLY after you have seasoned the OIL and Cooked 6 or 7 whole Birds and left the Oil over night seasoned itself.
remember OLD time KFC cooking needed the Crackin to make the Gravy and the Oil needed to Cool and was Cooled overnight they filtered.

No Savory in sight. But get a load of that 6 TBSP of MSG. Pre 1940 no less. Based upon this it seems unlikely that the mystery ingredient tossed in as 2 handfuls was not MSG.

The MSG was 1955's era when the Cumberland Lake open for Larger Boat access to the New Dock which was 3 Miles from CHS location
