What has been the Highest amount of Caraway anyone has used in there attempts.
I know everyone has Jumped on the Coriander item from 99X
I have homework for anyone.
Find a Old Coriander spice Tin Pre 1940's You will find a McCORMICK Tin and usually NOT a BEE BRAND TIN.
The item that was used Prior to Coriander was Caraway Seed.
also find a Chilli Tin spelled C H I L L I and not C H I L I.
they are the more rare spice tins pre 1940's and if they are that RARE to find now as Antiques its because it was NOT a common kitchen Shelf item.
Caraway Seed was common and Chili spice was common
CHS BBQ recipe spells C H I L L I and so did OLD KFC information where chilli powder was used.
why is this important it shows what Brand CHS used

I added Caraway seeds once and did not like the outcome. It's possible that I added too many, or the rest of my recipe conflicted with the Caraway Seeds.

I have used star anise, fennel, and aniseed. out of those three the star anise works the best to bring out that anise flavour but i don't see the Colonel using it as it wasn't common. Fennel and aniseed, you can get away with adding a large amount of it and it doesn't seem to affect the chicken negatively whatsoever.
Today i'm going to get some caraway seeds because i believe the O.R had an anise flavour to it and still does. I've also suspected that the O.R has a slight cumin profile to it and from what i've read, caraway ticks both those boxes.

Just smelt and tasted some caraway seeds then for the first time.
Smell: Very refreshing smell that smells minty, menthol, slight anise, almost overwhelming if you smell it too much.
Taste: i like the taste more than it smells, has a very nice nuty, minty, slight anise like flavour.
I think it could possibly work better than the fennel, aniseed, and star anise.

I am trying caraway tonight. I am convinced it is in the modern day O.R because after familiarising myself with caraway i can easily detect the medicinal like smell and taste. What's even more strange is it triggered a memory i had about eating kfc as a child and would get a toothpaste like taste from it.

I read a few articles about caraway seed and the only take away for me is if it is substituting for coriander. Then likely it is used with lesser weight. So I would think it would drop down the list of ingredients from where many set coriander. How much less, I guess that's trial and error.

I just got done trying the caraway then, i can't really say if it did anything because i can't notice it? Next time will up the amount and not use chicken booster in spice mix (was also testing chicken booster).

A important Thing that People Do not understand is Caraway was a Very Expensive Seed in the 1930's and Very rare Spice many articles were printed of the Low import of the spice prior to the War
