Working with the assumption there is only 3 herb slots available in the recipe. I favour the combination of sage and savory. It just has a great smell when mixed. Leaving 1 slot for another complementary herb. Unless you consider there to be blends within the recipe Sage and Savory are very much a given, I tried leaving both of them out, didn't work.

Deep Taste , are you still of the opinion that Tarragon can be used beneficially in place of Marjoram/Oregano? I don't remember saying that, I dropped Marjoram from my attempts long time ago, Tarragon could only replce Fennel in my opinion. Oregano is my personal favourite herbs, I used it closed eyes, that doesnt mean it belongs to the original recipe though. I had many tasty tecipes combining Tarragon and Oregano. Deep TasteI may have inferred it from your series of recipe iterations that made up your DT20 series. I always saw Tarragon as an ingredient, and never saw Marjoram or Oregano in the DT20 series.

My (OK,not exactly mine) radical thought for the day is:
What if CHS's famous 2 handfuls was an Umami containing (I.E., MSG, plus perhaps Umami ingredients beyond MSG) chicken bullion (or perhaps Aromat) and not pure MSG?

My second radical thought for the day:
For recipes scaled to a nominal 200 grams of flour, you will evolve more of the note with 30 grams of total Salt than with any Salt combination totaling to less than 30 grams.
My third radical thought for the day:
For recipes scaled to a nominal 200 grams of flour, you will evolve more of the note with 15-20 grams of MSG than with any MSG level totaling to less than 15-20 grams.
My radical question for the day:
Why doesn't the 'I+G' that I purchased ever seem to accomplish anything? I've tried it three times now within deep fried chicken recipes in conjunction with reduced MSG, and it doesn't come close to mimicking a healthy increase in real MSG. In fact, I truly think it isn't doing anything...

My radical thought for the day:
People have been attempting to clone the note of KFC_OR for decades with recipes based upon Sexton Poultry Seasoning, and all of them have failed.
Therefore my radical thought for the day is to quit doing what everyone else has been doing and try something different.
If a rat was in a maze, and continually went down the same path, it would never find the cheese. But rats are smart enough to explore until they find the path to the cheese. Only humans would continue following the same path forever, and never find the cheese.

People are as smart as the First Sheep they are following that jumps off the Cliff.
I have typed this comment many times and ask why Ken Blocks people from his Form when he gets his dandruff up with them if you have a true Forum you respect the people giving input NOT BLOCK them its ONLY a communist Leader who blocks and stops other ways which are against the leaders wishes.
if CHS has was open to say he used spice and herbs from Sausage and Dressing there was a reason for it. He was a honest man.
I cannot try and EXPLAIN that Dressing is Dressing and was NOT stuffing CHS knew the difference between the items
Sausage was Sausage and not something else BUT which sausage and when making sausage a Binder was critical to make it form in a casing.
also understand THIS CHS was infatuated with GLORIA P he was calling her Radio show UNTIL NEW AGE KFC STOPPED HIM FROM speaking on her show.
he was leading her to LOOK at Dressing Packages NOT stuffing Packages for Spices and Herbs, and also Soup Mix contained Accent MSG with out saying MSG.
Colonels Sanders’ Roquefort Dressing
11/4 Cups Mayonnaise ¾ Cup Durkee’s Famous Dressing ½ Cup Salad Oil ¼ Cup Worcestershire Sauce ¼ Cup Onion Juice ¼ tsp. Garlic extract 7 oz Roquefort Cheese
Colonel Sanders’ Special Dressing
2 ½ Cups Ketchup 1 1/3 Cups Salad Oil 1 ¼ Cups Mayonnaise 1 Cup Chili Sauce 1/3 Cup Worcestershire Sauce 5 or 6 Medium Cloves Garlic Crushed or diced fine 4 TBSP Onion Juice 4 Tbsp Vinegar 3 Tbsp Prepared Mustard ½ tsp Tabasco 1 tsp. Ground Black Pepper 1 tsp Red Pepper
view the above DRESSING recipes they are NOT called stuffing recipes
CHS Stuffing Recipe
1-pound (450 g) Bread loaf use: 1 Onion White, minced ¹/ ² cup (110 g) Butter (divided use) ¹/ ² (120mL) Chicken broth or water ³/ ⁴ cup (180 mL) Chicken broth or water ¹/ ² teaspoon Sage, fresh 1 teaspoon Salt ¹/ ² teaspoon Thyme, fresh Black Pepper ground Freshly
Durkee's Dressing was a Power mix prior to a Liquid Dressing Mix also.
also something to think about
CHS went with Leon to the Grocery Store and bought the Spices and Herbs OFF a shelf it was NOT Hidden items CHS needed access to Spices and Herbs to make the Original

I think the last part is the most important. He didn’t look high and low for very specific unique spices. I truly believe they were obtainable in local markets. Or suitable substitutes.

in that Time period the stores had much more supplied then 1939 1940.
Durkee's was a BIG supplier and VERY strong in Salt Lake City.
Leon mentioned Durkee's was easy to obtain, it was on the majority of stores in His area.
CHS left the Spice Tins at Leon's as he was flying to Australia the next day, and did not take them with himself so it was easy to know what spic CHS put in the flour when you watched the Process. Leon was NO MANS FOOL.
before CHS came back 2 weeks later it was a BIG HIT and Claudia did not mix the spices for that location

Just so I’m not that guy that didn’t try. I bought a small amount of tarragon to try on some things to get a sense of flavor and strength. Try to see if it belongs.

I really do think at one point there was 1 or more commercial mixed items in what became 11.
Was it a commercial seasoning salt used that would have had a lot of the same ingredients like the Italian seasoning Gloria used. Or the season packed I did. So garlic, onion, celery, bell pepper, parsley etc. Which became garlic salt only, dehydrated garlic and eventually garlic powder? That alone would have cause a flavor loss
