It's been 66 years since CHS 'purportedly' finalized his recipe. What are the odds that no one has actually come across a nominally indistinguishable clone within those 66 years, hitting on all aspects of the flavor and color and note?

Part of the problem might be that although many have openly proclaimed from time to time that they have developed recipes that fully accomplish (or perhaps even exceed) the goal, few are actually willing to follow up on such recipes, and cook them whereby to independently verify the claims.

I remember once seeing a picture of some typewriter generated typing upon a sheet of yellowing and thereby old looking paper which simply stated something akin to:
25 Lbs. White Flour 3.75 Lbs. Salt Bag of Herbs/Spices
Has anyone got a copy of this photo, or a link to it, and (hopefully) a verifiable source for it?
The connection to this thread is: If the goal is to ever get closer to the 'note' of the finalized 1955 recipe, how can we ever expect to precisely clone it unless we are fully willing to put 30 grams of Salt into 200 grams of flour, if in fact CHS actually used this much Salt back in circa 1955?

In 82 years since the 11 Herbs and Spices and 66 years since the MSG was added to the 11 Herbs and Spices.
KFC has worried about some recipes but always discredit them.
Its funny that KFC can Get court Orders when people have what they say are recipes and drag the people to court.
A Montreal Reporter said that KFC has said that 1 recipe has come close to the Original BUT they did not give any other details.
KFC New Age Can say what they want to many people. They Can never be forced to bring the Recipe into court CHS was the ONLY one who could have dragged the New Age KFC Corporation into Court, and shown the Recipe That's why they always settled out of court.
Marion Kay and Pat's AKA Graces Perfect Blend LOST in court.

Scroll down and see page #5 via the web link provided below. Unfortunately whomever scanned the manual did not scan page #4. #5 is the "Alternate Breading Mix" instruction page, leaving me to wonder if page #4 was the "Primary Breading Mix" instruction page. web.archive.org/web/20100831100544/http://kfc.forumup.co.uk:80/about1056-kfc.html

I have one of the Larger collections of KFC items.
I Do have many old KFC manuals and Documents that are more Canadian content that was passed from NEW AGE corporation to Canada.
CHS Did not have manuals when he set up the Locations he started he set up over 500 Stores with NO manuals. All Hands on training was the was KFC Did it.
CHS adopted the Manuals from USA New Age Corporation in the 1970's to Canada BUT the staffing was a BIG difference then when CHS started his first 500 Stores.
If anyone else has a manual which could show the other pages that would help as ALL the Old Manuals I have are in a storage warehouse. With short staff its to hard to get to the Manuals which we Never Use.
I was having a discussion with one of Canadas oldest KFC workers week age she has worked for KFC for 55 years In eastern Canada. She has worked almost every position in KFC store more then one time. She made a comment that was interesting that have NOT heard many people say.
There were many times that other locations regions were using items originally that were not located in other areas is what she was told by the Owners who owned many different locations in the 1960's she said some locations used a Beef Tallow and some used the Hydronated Vegetable Oil for cooking the chicken. It was all because of the supply chain in those areas, which dictated the item to cook chicken in.
I know in Alberta the Deal was with Gainers Packing plant and Peter Pocklington who CHS signed the deal with, in the 1970's Peter Pocklington Owned the Edmonton Oilers Hockey Team, who signed Wayne Gretzky in the Day. It was not uncommon for Buckets of KFC to be delivered to the Edmonton Oilers After Practice.
I can say this about the Old manuals I have they did not List size of season bags if that's what you are curious about

It's been 70 years since the Colonel added MSG to the recipe, not 66, but who's counting. The missing pages contain; the instructions for milk and egg dip (page 4) and whipped potatoes (page 6). Your not missing anything.

Your not missing anything. Do you have a copy or a link to it? Does page #4 also call for 3.75 Lbs. of Salt into 25 Lbs. of flour? Do you know what year this was? 3.75/25 = 0.15 0.15 x 200 grams flour = 30 grams Salt 0.15 x 400 grams flour = 60 grams Salt This must be how it was back in the era when KFC made excellent chicken. It has to be a part of any attempt of reviving the taste experience from said era. Everyone is undershooting the Salt these days.
