Remember Glen ONLY started Doing Video and Work with KFC after the 1980's if I'm correct BUT I might be corrected when he started doing the Video's
The time period which Glen did the Video's was after the New Age Corporate made changes to the spices.
The Red color spices are more spoke about BY Gloria P in Her making the Bucket in the Sky chicken.
CHS also agreed ON THE RADIO the spice made a Rose Color Chicken when Deep Fried. CHS OWN WORDS. Then when the The New AGE Chicken Wizards Brown/Massey went with a crispy crunch coating then the Phrase was always a Golden Brown ?

Please note that pink peppercorns aren't actually peppercorns, but berries of the cashew family and can cause anaphylactic reactions in those allergic to cashews and tree nuts. Pink peppercorns were banned in the US in the 80s at some point and are poisonous to pigs and poultry. Anyway I believe they are even pricier than Tellicherry. True red peppercorns are very rare and expensive. So given that pepper is the number one ingredient by weight, I would not bet on pink peppercorns being one of the 11 to be honest. Ledington said nobody knew how to use white pepper in the 50s. If white pepper was revolutionary, pink pepper would have been futuristic and surely not an item on every shelf.
Tiny red flakes do not have to be paprika or chili though. In a rather pale and white breading, nutmeg, mace and the likes do look pretty red and can easily be mistaken for paprika. I noticed this when I stopped using paprika.

These are 2021 Current Amounts of Flour to Spices and Salt used in Canada, It is used Daily and mixed this AM as followed
it is also confirmed in the Unwrapped KFC Video if you watch the video
This is KFC NEW AGE CORPORATE amounts BUT can be used to figure out % of items and then compare to 1939's amounts
5kg 11 Lbs. Flour
1kg 2.2 Lbs. Seasoning 11 Herbs and Spices
159g Milk and Egg Powder
13.2 Lbs. Total plus 159 g Milk / Egg Powder
5 / 1 Ratio Flour / Seasoning or 20%
Smaller Locations use this mix which is obviously to save the amount of waist BUT ones can see how they cut corners even further between 2 sizes of restaurants
Breaking Down to a Home use amount
240g of Flour 48g of seasoning 48g of Salt ( I personally use less and set to preference ) 14g of Milk & Egg powder
