Bay Leaf is NOT a new item which has been tried for decades.
TC23 had it used it.

Loads of KFC clone recipes on the internet utilize Bay Leaves as an ingredient. Therefore, by itself, Bay Leaf is not going to be any sort of magic bullet. As for all of the other ingredients, it clearly needs to be balanced and integrated. The balancing and integrating part will be the trick.

Glen and Friends Video 7 He Stated it was the best Chicken he has Cooked NOT KFC BUT it would be his Go To Chicken Recipe ?
Bay Leave and Vanilla in the Recipe ?
KFC Colonels Employee Recipe Episode #7 This recipe comes to us in a a series of anonymous untraceable emails... As the story unfolded there were a lot of plausible ‘truths’ that led us to believe that this was for real. Will this Original KFC recipe hold up? Is this really the secret KFC recipe?
Ingredients: 102g (12 Tbsp / 36 tsp) white pepper 66g (9 Tbsp +1 tsp / 28 tsp) black pepper 18g (4 Tbsp / 12 tsp) ground sage 5g (2 tsp) ground coriander 18g (2 Tbsp / 6 tsp) ground ginger 11g (4 tsp) of cayenne 5g (2 tsp) vanilla bean powder 5g (1 Tbsp / 3 tsp) ground bay leaf 5g (1 Tbsp / 3 tsp) ground savory 2g (1 tsp) ground clove 4g (2 tsp) ground cardamom seeds 19g (4 tsp) msg 480g (24 Tbsp / 72 tsp) salt

That Glen and Friends Episode #7 recipe is intended to be cut by about 1/16 to 1/20 whereby to scale it to 200 grams of flour. Call it 1/18.
1/18 = 0.0555555...
Multiply everything by 0.0555556 and add it to 200 grams of flour.

Correction, after viewing the video, the ingredients sum to 740 grams, and Glen's instruction is to add 48 grams to 100 grams of flour. That means add 96 grams to 200 grams of flour.
96/740 = 0.12972973
Multiply 480 grams of salt by 0.12972973 and you get 62.27 grams of Salt. Gag a maggot man, but that's a killer load of Salt in 200 grams of flour. Did Glen get the instructions correct? No one would claim that to be the best recipe ever.
He must far and away more likely have meant to add 48 grams of the purported 'employee mix' to 200 grams of flour. That would come to a very agreeable 31.14 grams of Salt.

If Glen flubbed this recipe so badly, how many others that were submitted to him did he flub? He almost gagged on one of Ken's recipes, and said (effectively) that it was awful. My speculation is that likely that was because he flubbed it and got the ratios completely wrong, and got hit with a licorice overload. Obviously it wouldn't have tasted bad. Ken knows what he's doing.
