I have NOT released this information before but its time that some people start looking into the what CHS said Sausage Spices
Charcoal Seasoning or Blackening Season was VERY important in the 1930's if ANY ONE looks back into Butchering and Sausage making
Charcoal seasoning was used in MANY Sausage Seasoning.
NOW MANY will think that's a awful taste. No it was NOT it was Herbs and Spices Sugar and Oil's that were Heated and then turned into seasoning IT WAS NOT a AWEFUL taste.
Go Purchase a Traeger Blackening seasoning from any BBQ Store or Major Box store even HomeDepot carries it.
There were different Brands that made the Charcoal Seasoning
Because the major item was Oils to help cause the Char Flavor it made chicken a tacky sticky napkin hugger item. The Oils were already heated and when deep fried make a different type of oily consistency.
NOW I KNOW the other Forums will say Deep Fried is FULL OF IT.
Remember CHS sold Brown & Massey a BBQ Franchise before he sold them a KFC Chicken Franchise. CHS helped McCormick's develop a BBQ outdoor season lit with 6 Bottles in 1957
CHS made the Worlds Best Steaks that were Cut thick, and seasoned perfect. CHS had Beef and Pork Ribs in KFC
watch the Todd Wilbur CMT video when Todd and the KFC enter the Kitchen LOOK at the SPICE shelve. There is McCormick
McCormick Char Broil & Grill Seasoning
Ingredients: Salt, Sugar, Garlic, Onion, Caramel Color, Maltodextrin, Molasses, Spices, Xanthan Gum, Natural Grill Flavor (From Partially Hydrogenated Cottonseed and Soybean Oil), Silicon Dioxide (Added To Make Free Flowing) and Sulfiting Agents.
WHY IS THERE 3 small bottles of Char & Grill Seasoning on the shelve and 1 large one on the Top Shelf. ( THERE IS NO OTHER McCormick spice on the Shelve with 4 BOTTLES ?) except the different Grinds of Pepper.
Is there NOT a BLACK VIAL in the KFC vault the is BLACK - PEOPLE are convinced that its Garlic turned BLACK. ... HEY WHY DON"T YOU LOOK AT THE 1985 ORIGINAL photos of the VIALS it was BLACK when they took the photos in 1985 it did not turn Black. IT MIGHT HAVE JUST BEEN Blackening seasoning or Charcoal
Vial K is WHITE and BLACK Peppercorns OH if you look at the McCormick Peppercorn its the same spice Black and White pepper.
NOW I'm NOT saying dump a whole BOTTLE of Charcoal seasoning into the Flour. Its NOT the same as 1930's spice but works.
I guess do some research into 1930's Sausage making and see.
