I have always felt strongly about regular sweet basil as a herb in the recipe, even tho i have doubt it sometimes.
I got some fresh basil growing now, and it gives me strong Original Recipe vibes.
So these are all the 100% herbs, and could be few more.
Sage. Oregano. Marjoram. Thyme. Rosemary. Basil. Tarragon.

Basically, Italian Seasoning, plus tarragon. Correct. But is actual Italian seasoning used? that is the question. Sage isn't really at right levels in Italian seasoning, but maybe the recipe doesn't need as much as we thought? What makes the most sense is for Italian herbs to be used, and then sage added as extra stand alone. Even tho i feel so strongly about all those herbs, and many people will think there's too many (there isn't) i will admit it's very time consuming mixing up so many herbs and i cannot see Sanders wanting to do that. Much easier to scoop all the herbs out of the Italian Seasoning. And if Italian seasoning is in the recipe, well all those 6 or 7 herbs can now count as 1.

Vial I is 100% Italian herbs. Purposely placed on Vial I to hint at "Italian herbs" Of all the places they could place the herb vials, they put two near eachother, and then the other towards the end on the letter I. yeah that is 100% deliberate and no coincidence.
But i'm not saying this is true for every vial. Where they could fit some hints in, they did.

Neither Kentucky Fried Chicken nor KFC have ever tasted Italian to me. A number of the many Pizza shops around me serve deep fried Chicken that both tastes Italian and tastes awful.

If you review the Chinese report when they Tested the KFC Chicken it SHOWED * Positive Basil oils a 100% Match in the test also. If Basil shares its oils with perhaps a half dozen or more other herbs/spices, then how can Basil ever be 100% positively identified? At best the test can only conclude that due to the detected oils Basil might be what is present. And pretty much the same goes for all oil containing herb and/or spice ingredients, unless they have highly unique oil markers not to be found elsewhere.
And that's why there are many paths to grasping the brass ring. You don't taste herbs and spices, you taste their oils. Get the oils in the ballpark and you will get the taste in the ballpark. Regardless of how you get there.
The door is clearly open to substitutions. There is no need to see the real recipe. What you claim to possess is potentially a legal nightmare just waiting to happen. Do you intend to sell it (or sell access to it) above board and out in the open? If not, what is it's worth to you?

Italian Seasoning is not a set recipe. It is a classification. The formula used is in the eye of the beholder. It is quite possible that CHS included herbs into "Italian Seasoning" to reduce the number of ingredients in the OR to make it easier to claim "11 Ss&Hs".
