My general analysis of "this thing of ours" is that Kens site has 194 registered members; this one 152 members. On a guestimate, there's a crossover of say %50 dual membership, thats approximately 173 people seeking the golden ring recipe. Of those, some unknown % have never eaten Kentucky Fried Chicken, only modern KFC.
Whether they are from USA or Canada is another variable in the timeframe of the taste changes. Only us old farts know and tasted these changes, with Canadians being the last to experience this (in my experience the early 2000's was when it went seriously downhill, especially the size of the bird parts).
POPEYES, CHIC-FIL-A, and many others beat modern KFC; its not even a close race.
My point is, if corporate actually publicized the OR who would make it anyhow? At the most, 173 people?
Really makes you wanna think about all the BS & lies posted to only bicker with each other; all over "not the best chicken anymore"!

A small independent shop in Akron, Ohio makes deep fried chicken that's so good (and so reminiscent of Kentucky Fried Chicken from the past) that one order will having you say goodbye to KFC. 1272 miles from my place, only A 20 hr drive! DAMN! Probably out of their delivery area too.

If so, why isn't this and other forums swamped with members looking for it then? Answer: because most people are too lazy to even attempt it unless dedicated to the project.
The "as close as" recipe(s) are on this and other sites, I have made them. If you made them you would know it too.
No, I'm not telling you which ones. You figure it out like I did.
