I've wanted to know that forever. Bringing it up, as has been done, without filling in the details, perturbs me.

My god!! Has this thing of ours reduced itself to a motley crew of less than 10 old farts, maybe a few young farts, to argue 'bout eat'n a piece of lousy chicken? If we were real serious each forum should have a category stating which version (year) original KFC are we making.

It shouldn't be very hard to comprehend that if the original/original recipe weighed in at roughly a nominal 26 ounces, which were intended to be added into 10 Lbs. of Flour, and then eventually, at some future junction (likely franchise, economics, storage space, and transport expense related), some portion of each natural ingredient was transitioned over to extractives, how/why the 26 ounce seasoning mix would then at that juncture accommodate 25 Lbs. of Flour vs. 10 Lbs., while still delivering much the same flavor and aroma quality/quantities. Thus this aspect of the history of Kentucky Fried Chicken is worthy of exploration on two fronts:
1) Uncovering historical evidence. 2) Attempting recipes scaled appropriately to 10 Lbs. as opposed to 25 Lbs..

PLUS 10 LBS Bags of Flour were most common and it was what they were taught to Mix the seasoning with Thanks! But we still need to put 1 and 1 together to make 2.
Therefore: During the era of 10 pounds of Flour did the seasoning mix that was added to this 10 pounds of flour weigh 26 ounces?
