For 20 years PLUS we attempted to recreate C.H.S. recipes using JUST 11 Spices and Herbs and Never archived Kentucky Fried Chicken it lacked the Flavor and texture.
We were mixing Vegetables as 3 of the Items in the 11 Spices and Herbs
When we Tested REAL Fresh Celery, Garlic, Onion, as Fresh Chopped items NOT Powdered was When we Knew those items Were extra's OUTSIDE the 11 Spices and Herbs count
Item's Like Chicken Bouillon, and Other Seasoning were Added as additional items in the Bring as they gave more depth to Meat to the Bone. when we tested Some first method's and kept the 11 Spices and Herbs in Flour
The SMELL AROMA only was present after we Cooked continual Chicken Batches days in a roll and the OIL became seasoned and Filled with Chicken Fat and Juices from the multiple cooks then we introduced Chicken Gelatin as extra Flavor.
Chicken Bouillon and or Tomato Soup Powder was used as a replacer for MSG as They both contained M.S.G. and Yeast extract.
Good Italian Seasoning was used as it was a Old Staple in the 1930's and contained items used in Dressing used in Salads and they also used it in Corn Stuffing for Decades.
in 1966 It was reveled that Tarragon was a KEY Item in ALL C.H.S. Cooking court case Famous Chicken. which limited ALL competitors to ONLY 5 Individual ingredients.
C.H.S. Original ALWAYS said he added the 11 Spices and Herbs to Flour and Salt and Pepper so Salt and Pepper were EXTRA NOT in the 11 Spices and Herbs

I will continually say There are MORE than 11 Herbs and Spices in the Original and Stick with 17 Total Items Salt was always in a Separate Box or Bag.
