Custard Powder is in the recipe. Custard Powder is what makes the chicken truly unique and different to anything else.
I have been saying for ages i keep detecting a custard aroma on the modern O.R, but it never occurred to me that they are simply using custard powder.
Custard powder is the real missing ingredient NOBODY has used in any posted recipe. It takes the chicken from a boring savoury flavour to something alluring and mysterious. And combines with the other sweet spices.

"Refer to Dfn101 mentioning custard powder. And why would CHS spend extra money on custard powder when it’s simply eggs, milk, flour and vanilla?"
Because corn flour is also used in the recipe. Custard powder is just flavoured corn flour. And there is no milk/egg in custard powder.
By using custard powder, you don't need to use cornflour, and also get some vanilla flavours.
And you only use about 1-2 tbps per 350g flour, so it isn't expensive to use at all.

Update: i've just realized custard powder requires sugar or it is rather bland, so next cook i am including raw sugar.
